
Pyramids are triangular buildings similar to the real-life structure. Brick pyramids are common in the Slaver Cities of Slaver's Bay, and are used as palaces and fortifications by the slave-owning nobility of the cities.[1][2]

A Storm of Swords
Daenerys takes the Great Pyramid as her abode after the successful siege of Meereen. The master of the Indigo Star informs her that each pyramid in Astapor hosts an armed camp in the aftermath of that city's fall.[9]
A Dance with Dragons
The Sons of the Harpy plot against Daenerys from within Meereen's pyramids in response to her abolition of slavery.[2] Daenerys, now Queen of Meereen, imposes a tax of a hundred pieces of gold from every pyramid for every freedman killed in the city, and she demands that each pyramid send her a boy and a girl to serve as her cupbearers.[10]
Many pyramids in Astapor are despoiled amid the city's capture by Yunkai'i.[11][12]
