A snowstorm is a heavy fall of snow, usually accompanied by strong, gusty winds.
History
Old Nan told many stories to Lord Eddard Stark's children in Winterfell, including that of an old northmen "going hunting" during terrible winter storms,[1] and storms that raged for forty days and forty nights, or for a year, or for ten years, which buried castles, cities, and entire kingdoms under a hundred feet of snow.[2]
