The Flowstone Yard is a yard within Harrenhal.
Appearance
[edit]Located near Hunter's Hall and a covered bridge,[1] the Flowstone Yard has a lumpy surface.[2] To scour them clean, mail shirts can be tossed in barrels of sand and rolled across the uneven ground.[3][4] A covered gallery overlooks the yard.[2] Also located near the Flowstone Yard is the bear pit of Harrenhal and the Wailing Tower.[5]
Recent Events
[edit]A Clash of Kings
[edit]Arya Stark sees three House Frey knights and their bastard brother (Jared, Hosteen, Danwell, and Ronel), all captives of Lord Tywin Lannister,[6] practice with staves and wooden shields in the Flowstone Yard. The four are soon ransomed by other kin from House Frey.[2]
After the fall of Harrenhal, Brave Companions bring the slain to the Flowstone Yard and burn them bodies in a pyre.[7] Elmar Frey asks Arya for help rolling a barrel across the yard.[4]
A Storm of Swords
[edit]Ser Jaime Lannister gallops through the Flowstone Yard to rescue Brienne of Tarth from the bear pit.[5]
A Feast for Crows
[edit]After having supper with Ser Bonifer Hasty in Hunter's Hall, Jaime passes through the Flowstone Yard and meets Ser Ronnet Connington by the bear pit.[1]
