[edit]A Feast for Crows
[edit]Queen Margaery Tyrell gives her young husband King Tommen I Baratheon three black kittens,[2] whom he names Boots, Lady Whiskers, and Ser Pounce. Dorcas makes Tommen a mouse from scraps of fur and ties it on a fishing pole. The kittens love to chase it, and Tommen likes nothing better than jerking it across the floor as the cats pounce on it.[3] Ser Pounce catches a mouse but Lady Whiskers steals it from him.[4]
A Dance with Dragons
[edit]When King Tommen dines with his mother and his great-uncle, Lord Regent Kevan Lannister, the boy brings his kittens. At dinner, he claims Ser Pounce hissed at the bad cat that was at his window, and scared him away. Tommen serves morsels of pike to his pets. After dinner, the king and his kittens are escorted to the royal bedchamber by Ser Boros Blount.[5]
