Lady Alerie Hightower is the daughter of Lord Leyton Hightower of Oldtown, and the spouse of Lord Mace Tyrell of Highgarden. She is the mother of his four children, Willas, Garlan, Loras, and Margaery.
Appearance and Character
Alerie is tall and handsome, with long silvery hair which she braids with jeweled rings.[3][4] She is younger than her husband, Lord Mace Tyrell.[5] Ser Jaime Lannister thinks she always has a pinched expression.[6]
Sansa Stark finds Alerie to be dignified,[3] but Cersei Lannister thinks her vapid.[7]

Lady Tyrell sedately dances with her husband, Lord Mace Tyrell during the wedding of Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark.[8]
Alerie proudly attends the wedding of King Joffrey I Baratheon and Margaery. When Joffrey chokes to death during the feast, Alerie comforts her daughter by explaining that the king choked on pie. Queen Regent Cersei Lannister, however, insists that her son was poisoned and accuses her brother, Tyrion.[4]
A Feast for Crows

Alerie echoes her good-mother, Lady Olenna Tyrell, that King Tommen I Baratheon should share a bed with Margaery after they are wed; Cersei acquiesces to the couple spending only their wedding night together, however.[9] Alerie makes the arrangements for the modest wedding feast held in the Small Hall.[9]
After the wedding, Alerie leaves King's Landing for the Reach with Olenna and her second son, Ser Garlan.[6]
Quotes
Alerie: Mother.
Olenna: Hush, Alerie, don't take that tone with me. And don't call me Mother. If I'd given birth to you, I'm sure I'd remember. I'm only to blame for your husband, the lord oaf of Highgarden.[3]—Alerie and Olenna Tyrell
He choked, sweetling. He choked on the pie. It was naught to do with you. He choked. We all saw.[4]
—Alerie to Margaery Tyrell
