Gunthor Goodbrother was a nobleman from House Goodbrother during the Dance of the Dragons.[1]
Appearance and Character
Archmaester Gyldayn describes Gunthor as a "roaring giant".[1]
History
After Lord Dalton Greyjoy was killed by his own salt wife Tess at Faircastle in 133 AC, the smallfolk and remaining knights of Fair Isle rose up in rebellion against the ironborn. Alongside the sly Alester Wynch, Gunthor was one of the commanders of the Greyjoy garrison at Faircastle, composed of the Red Kraken's close companions and brothers-in-battle. While the ironborn fled the island or were otherwise murdered by its people, the garrison at Faircastle held out stubbornly. In a dispute over another of the Red Kraken's salt widows, Lysa Farman, Gunthor slew Alester Wynch. The longships thus fled and Fair Isle was free.[1]
