Lord Blackwood was the Lord of Raventree and head of House Blackwood during Aegon's Conquest.[1]
In the television adaptation House of the Dragon, his name is given as Lucas Blackwood and he is the grandsire of Samwell Blackwood's grandsire.[2]
History
Following the lead of Lord Edmyn Tully of Riverrun, Lord Blackwood was among the riverlords who rose up against the ironborn king Harren the Black and joined the siege of Harrenhal with Aegon the Conqueror during his conquest. Before the burning of Harrenhal, Harren vowed that whoever could slay Aegon's dragon Balerion would have his choice of the riverlords' daughters to marry, including those of Lord Blackwood.[1]
After the destruction of House Hoare, Aegon the Conqueror granted lordship of the riverlands to Edmyn Tully, and Lord Blackwood was required to swear fealty to him.[3] Although the Blackwoods ruled over wider domains and historically fielded a much larger army than House Tully,[4] a private war with House Bracken and the subsequent intervention of Harren the Black a decade prior to the conquest had greatly diminished the Blackwoods' strength, leaving Edmyn Tully the strongest of the riverlords.[3]
