Medgar Tully[N 1] was the Lord of Riverrun and the head of House Tully during the reign of King Daeron II Targaryen.[2] In the television adaptation A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, he is portrayed by Russell Simpson.
Appearance
In the lists, Medgar wore a striped blue-and-red cloak clasped with a silver trout at each shoulder and carried a longsword.[2]
History
In 209 AC, Lord Medgar participated in the tourney at Ashford Meadow. He challenged Ser Humfrey Hardyng in his first tilt but was knocked from the saddle on the second lance. When they continued their bout on foot with swords, Humfrey beat Medgar into submission.[2]
Medgar died within two years after the tourney, because in 211 AC the unnamed Lord Tully of Riverrun was a boy of eight.[4]
Notes
- ↑ His name is not given in the novella The Hedge Knight published in 1998, where he is only referred to as "Lord Tully". The given name "Medgar" appears in the graphic novel adaptation published in 2005.
