The submission of Stokeworth ocurred quite early in Aegon's Conquest, shortly after the landing of the Conqueror. Following the construction of the Aegonfort, Aegon I dispatched his wives Rhaenys and Visenya to secure the submission of nearby castles.[1]
While Rosby, the seat of House Rosby, yielded to Rhaenys and Meraxes without a fight, a few crossbowmen shot arrows at her and Vhagar at Stokeworth. As a result, the dragon set the roofs of the castle keep ablaze, which led to House Stokeworth to quickly submit.[1]
