Delena Florent is a noblewoman of House Florent, niece to Lord Alester Florent. She is the mother of Edric Storm, one of the bastards of King Robert Baratheon. She is married to Ser Hosman Norcross, and has two children by him, Alester and Renly.

Appearance

Since her bastard son, Edric Storm, has the large ears common to the Florents,^[3] Delena presumably shares this physical characteristic.

History

Delena was a bedmaid for her cousin, Selyse Florent, and attended her wedding to Lord Stannis Baratheon. During the wedding feast, while the bride and groom were still dancing, Stannis's brother, King Robert I Baratheon, carried Delena upstairs to the bedroom of the newlyweds and broke in the wedding bed.^[4] Robert later told Stannis he had not recognized the bedchamber because he was drunk, and had not meant to cause shame.^[5] However, Stannis felt his brother's actions were an insult to House Florent.^[4]

The coupling eventually led to the birth of Edric Storm. Because Delena had been a maiden of noble birth when Robert slept with her, he had to acknowledge the child as his bastard.^[4]^[3] Stannis had the infant sent to Storm's End to be fostered by his younger brother, Lord Renly Baratheon.^[4]

Lord Tywin Lannister once offered to betroth his son Tyrion to Delena, but her father, Ser Colin Florent, refused, and instead married her to one of his household knights, Ser Hosman Norcross.^[6]
