Ronel Rivers is a member of House Frey and a bastard son of Lord Walder Frey.[1] Ronel's mother has not been mentioned.

[edit]Ronel is nearby when Catelyn Stark informs her son, Robb, of the alliance negotiated with Lord Walder Frey at the Twins.[2]
A Clash of Kings
[edit]Ronel is a captive of Lord Tywin Lannister, together with his half-brothers, Ser Danwell, Ser Hosteen, and Ser Jared Frey.[1] Tywin holds captives from the battle on the Green Fork at the Tower of Dread in Harrenhal.[3] Arya Stark observes the four Freys exercising in the Flowstone Yard of Harrenhal and then being ransomed by their kin.[3]
Ronel is among the Freys with Ser Aenys Frey under the command of Lord Roose Bolton at Harrenhal. Ronel regrets that Stannis Baratheon was defeated by Tywin in the Battle of the Blackwater.[4][5]
