A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a considered working title of a (currently untitled) planned American fantasy television series, adapting the Dunk and Egg novellas by George R. R. Martin.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms centers around the hedge knight Dunk and his young squire Egg, 90 years before the War of the Five Kings.

Conception and development

The adaptation of the Dunk and Egg stories, helmed by Steve Conrad, was first reported on 30 November 2021.[1] On 9 March 2022, George R. R. Martin confirmed these rumors and revealed that the first season would be an adaptation of the first novella, The Hedge Knight. He further explained that the series would not be called Dunk & Egg, as it could be mistaken for a sitcom by viewers unfamiliar with the stories. Instead, the most likely title is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms or possibly The Hedge Knight.[2]
