Gaemon Targaryen (son of Aenar)
- For characters with the same name, see here.
|Alias||Gaemon the Glorious|
|Title||Lord of Dragonstone|
|Spouse||Lady Daenys Targaryen|
|Book(s)||The World of Ice & Fire (mentioned)|
Gaemon was the son of Lord Aenar Targaryen and had at least one sister, Daenys Targaryen. Gaemon was married to Daenys and together they had at least two children, Aegon and Elaena, who eventually inherited the rule of Dragonstone from Gaemon. Gaemon and Daenys also had at least one younger daughter.
Gaemon was called "Gaemon the Glorious", and he is remembered as the greatest Targaryen Lord of Dragonstone during the Century of Blood. This may be because later rulers had fewer dragons: the Targaryens came to the island with five dragons, but four of them died off one by one over time, though two more later hatched. Thus Gaemon had five dragons, compared to the only three dragons of Aegon the Conqueror.
