House Hardyng is a house of landed knights in the Vale of Arryn, sworn to House Waynwood.[1] The Hardyngs blazon their arms with a field of red and white diamonds.[2][3]

Ser Humfrey Hardyng participated in the tourney at Ashford Meadow in 209 AC, beginning the tourney as one of the champions. He remained a champion, even after Prince Aerion Targaryen killed his horse. Humfrey took Ser Duncan the Tall's side in the trial of seven, but he was severely injured in the fighting and later died of his wounds. Ser Humfrey's sister was married to Ser Humfrey Beesbury, another of Duncan's champions.[3]

The head of House Hardyng, a landed knight sworn to the Waynwoods, married the youngest daughter of Ser Elys Waynwood and Alys Arryn. They had one child, Harrold Hardyng.[1]
