Robert I Baratheon's steward serves as chief steward for Robert I Baratheon, King of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, at the Red Keep. His given name is unknown.
In the television adaptation Game of Thrones, the steward is portrayed by Robert Sterne.
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
When Lord Eddard Stark, the new Hand of the King, arrives at the Red Keep, the steward informs him that Grand Maester Pycelle has convened a meeting of the small council. The steward has Eddard's baggage taken to the Tower of the Hand. Lord Stark has the steward find him suitable attire for the council meeting.[1]
King Robert I Baratheon, having been mortally wounded by a boar, has his steward bring Eddard to the royal chambers in Maegor's Holdfast in the middle of the night.[2] After Robert dies, he is succeeded by Joffrey I Baratheon. The royal steward has Eddard brought from the Tower of the Hand to the throne room, where Queen Regent Cersei Lannister has Eddard arrested.[3]
A Clash of Kings
Tyrion Lannister chooses to reside in the Tower of the Hand instead of having the steward prepare chambers for him at Maegor's. Tyrion gives instructions to have the steward properly separate the mountain clansmen when they take up residence in the barracks beneath the Tower of the Hand.[4]
During the Battle of the Blackwater, the royal steward announces the arrival of Queen Cersei when she enters the Queen's Ballroom.[5]
A Feast for Crows
Cersei intends to ask the steward about the health of her son, King Tommen I Baratheon.[6]
