The Small council chamber hosts the meetings of the small council in the Red Keep, a small group of advisers who aid the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, the monarch on the Iron Throne.

About

The small council meets privately in their council chambers in the Red Keep.[1] When the king is not in attendance, the Hand may sit in the king's place at the head of the council table.[2] A knight of the Kingsguard stands guard outside the chamber.[3][4] There is also a table for the small council situated at the base of the Iron Throne in the Great Hall of the castle.[5][6][7]

Lay out

The door of the small council chamber is flanked by a pair of Valyrian sphinxes with eyes of polished garnets smoldering in black marble faces.[1][8]

History

The day he came of age by turning 16, Aegon III entered into the small council chamber, alongside several Kingsguard, including Sandoq the Shadow, whose presence unnerved the Hand of the King and the regents as the king dismissed them from their service.[9]
