Viserys Plumm was the head of House Plumm during the reign of King Aerys I Targaryen.[1]

History

Viserys's father, Lord Ossifer Plumm, was a wealthy but aged man when he wed Princess Elaena Targaryen in 176 AC. He is said to have died during the bedding, after seeing his wife naked for the first time.[4] Nevertheless, Elaena did conceive, and Viserys was eventually born. However, rumors later suggested that Lord Ossifer had died before he was able to consummate the marriage, and that Viserys instead had been fathered by King Aegon IV Targaryen.[4][5] The claim that Ossifer fathered a child after his death led to the saying that he had had "a cock six feet long".[6][2]

Ser Maynard Plumm claimed to be distantly related to Lord Viserys, though doubted the lord would admit to it.[1]

Recent Events

A Feast for Crows

When Ser Jaime Lannister tells Queen Cersei Lannister that there is no worry that her son King Tommen I Baratheon could consummate his marriage with Margaery Tyrell, as Tommen is "much too young", Cersei replies that Ossifer Plumm "was much too dead", but that didn't stop him from fathering a child. She intends to explain that any child of Margaery's could be recognized as being fathered by Tommen, even if it was physically impossible for him to impregnate her.[5]

A Dance with Dragons

Tyrion Lannister encounters Brown Ben Plumm, commander of the Second Sons, and speculates that he is descended from a younger son of Viserys Plumm. He guesses that Daenerys Targaryen's dragons were fond of Ben,[2] which amuses Ben as it is true,[6] and that he knows why. When Ben says his mother said his father had "a drop of dragon blood", Tyrion replies, "Two drops. That, or a cock six foot long",[2] suggesting that Tyrion believes the rumors about Ossifer's posthumous child being fathered by Aegon IV Targaryen.

Quotes about Viserys

Egg: Plumm…are you kin to Lord Viserys Plumm, ser?
Maynard: Distantly, though I doubt that his lordship would admit to it. One might say that he is of the sweet Plumms, whilst I am of the sour.[1]

Ossifer Plumm was much too dead, but that did not stop him fathering a child, did it?[7]

House Plumm is sworn to Casterly Rock, and as it happens I know a bit of its history. Your branch sprouted from a stone spit across the narrow sea, no doubt. A younger son of Viserys Plumm, I'd wager. The queen's dragons were fond of you, were they not?[2]
