In the main series and novellas, George R.R. Martin on most occasions does not state specifically in which year a character has been born or has died. This page lists the calculations to determine such years, years of birth mostly, but also years of death at times, as specific as is possible, for all characters for all this is possible. This information then can be used in articles and serves to give a more complete image of the world of A Song of Ice and Fire.
The following guidelines are used for the calculations:
- A character, both male and female, will be at least 12 years old at the birth of his or her first born child, for the following reason: a girl who has had her first flowering (i.e. first menstruation) is considered to be fit for both marriage and consummation of the marriage.[1] Most highborn girls have their first flowering at the age of twelve or thirteen,[2] indicating twelve as the youngest a girl can be for getting pregnant, and, as such, give birth. For boys, the same minimum age is used. Furthermore, we are given the precedence of the age of twelve for both males and females: the daughter of Unwin Peake died in childbirth at the age of twelve,[3] while Viserys II Targaryen impregnated his wife at the age of twelve.[4]
- Siblings are assumed to be at least one year apart in age, taking into consideration that a woman who has just given birth will not immediately become pregnant again. This is only when discussing full-blood siblings. For siblings with the same father, but with a different mother, no such recovery period is required.
- Where historic works are concerned which have been written by maesters, or sources recited from works written by maesters, it can be assumed that the age of a character stated in a year is the age that character would be turning that year. For example, Maegor I Targaryen was born in 12 AC. In historic works, his age in the year 25 AC will be stated as thirteen (the age he would be turning that year), without the author taking into account whether or not the described event took place before or after Maegor's nameday.[5] This goes for historical works (i.e. The Sons of the Dragon, The Rogue Prince, The Princess and the Queen, Fire & Blood, and The World of Ice & Fire), not for POV-information, like A Game of Thrones and its sequels, or The Hedge Knight, and other tales of Dunk & Egg. Do note that on some occasions, this rule might not apply.
- The following minimum ages for pages, squires, and knights are used, based on an overview of known ages:[N 1]
- A mother will be no older than ~52 years old at the earliest possibility for the birth of her youngest child, for the following reason: the Westerosi consider the age of forty-two to be "past [a woman's] childbearing years", and forty-four to be "well past her childbearing years",[9][10][11] although women of forty-four have been known to give birth to a child.[10][11] In real-life, the end of a woman's fertile cycle (menopause) occurs at an age of 49-52 on average, giving ~52 as a maximum age for giving birth to a child.
The characters are listed alphabetically, using full names. Maesters (like Aemon), will also be listed alphabetically under their birth names, unless those are not known.
Names that belong to several characters (for example, the name Walder Frey) will be listed alphabetically, but will have their nickname or relations listed in parentheses, so they can be distinguished from one another.
For calculations on placings of events, see Calculations of Events.

Ramsay Bolton
Birth
Ramsay Bolton was born when Rickard Stark was still Lord of Winterfell.[12] This places Ramsay's birth in 282 AC the latest. No further specifications can be given.
Rast
Birth
Rast is two years older than Jon Snow,[13] who was born in 283 AC (see Jon Snow). Rast was thus born in 281 AC.
Raya Stark
Birth
Raya Stark would have been at least one year younger than her older sister, Alys.[14] Alys had been born no earlier than 134 AC (see Alys Stark), meaning that Raya could not have been born any earlier than 135 AC.
Raya would have been at least one year older than her younger sister, Mariah Stark.[14] As the latest possible year of birth for Mariah is 165 AC (see Mariah Stark), Raya would have been born no later than 164 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Raya was thus born in or between 135 AC and 164 AC.
Raymont Baratheon
| Note: Raymont Baratheon's canon status is currently unclear. Raymont was created by George R. R. Martin for an early draft of The Sons of the Dragon, and this information was added to The World of Ice & Fire. However, in published editions of The Sons of the Dragon, including the latest edition of Fire & Blood, Raymont is no longer mentioned. Elio "Ran" García, co-author of The World of Ice & Fire, stated that mentions of Raymont would be removed from future editions of The World of Ice & Fire until his canon status is properly defined.[15] |
Birth
Raymont Baratheon was a younger son of Lord Orys Baratheon and his wife Lady Argella Durrandon.[N 2] Raymont's parents married at some time after the battle known as the Last Storm (during Aegon's Conquest)[16]. As the Conquest began in 2 BC,[16] Orys's first son couldn't be born any earlier than 2 BC. Since there was at least one year between the birth of Raymont and his brother, Raymont couldn't be born any earlier than 1 BC.
Raymont was a member of the Kingsguard in 41 AC.[17] At the age of fifteen, Jaime Lannister was the youngest to join the Kingsguard ever,[18][19] indicating Raymont was at least sixteen years old when he joined the Kingsguard. As 41 AC is the year of the first mention of Raymont being a Kingsguard knight, he was at least sixteen years old in 41 AC, though possibly older. This means that Raymont Baratheon was born at the latest in 25 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Raymont was thus born in or between 1 BC and 25 AC.
Death
Raymont Baratheon was a member of the Kingsguard by 41 AC.[17] He was not among the seven Kingsguard knights of Maegor I Targaryen in 48 AC.[20] As the Kingsguard serve for life[21][22] and Raymont is not one of Maegor's Seven, this implies he had died by 48 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Raymont thus died in or between 41 AC and 48 AC.
Raymund Frey
Birth
Raymund Frey is the youngest child of Amarei Crakehall.[23][24][25][26] Amarei died before Catelyn Tully was born.[27] Catelyn Tully was born in either 264 AC or 265 AC (see Catelyn Tully), making 265 AC the last possible moment for Raymund to have been born.
Raymund's older brother Merrett was born in 262 AC (see Merrett Frey). After Merrett came Geremy and Raymund. Geremy and Raymund have not been mentioned to have been twins, indicating they were born at least one year apart. With Merret's birth in 262 AC, and with at least one year between Merrett and Geremy, and with at least one year between Geremy and Raymund, Merrett and Raymund will be at least two years apart in age, meaning that Raymund cannot have been born before 264 AC.
No further specification can be given. Raymund Frey was thus born in either 264 AC or 265 AC.
Raynald Westerling
Birth
Raynald Westerling is the older brother of Jeyne Westerling,[24] who was born in 283 AC (see Jeyne Westerling). This means that one year earlier, 282 AC, is the last possible year of birth for Raynald.
No further specifications can be given. Raynald was thus born in or before 282 AC.
Red Lamb
Birth
The Red Lamb is part of a group of young former slaves in training with Ser Barristan Selmy. According to Barristan, his lads are between the age of eight and twenty in 300 AC.[28] Being twenty in 300 AC gives the following options:
- 19 turning 20 in 300 AC, placing their birth in 280 AC
- 20 turning 21 in 300 AC, placing their birth in 279 AC
Barristan knights the Red Lamb,[29] thus he is at least fifteen in 300 AC. Being fifteen in 300 AC gives the following options:
- 14 turning 15 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 285 AC
- 15 turning 16 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 284 AC
No further specifications can be given. The Red Lamb was thus born in or between 279 AC and 285 AC.
Renly Baratheon
Birth
Renly Baratheon is estimated by Sansa Stark to have been "near twenty" years old in 298 AC,[30] and is known to have been twenty-one years old in 299 AC.[31][32][33] Being twenty-one years old in 299 AC gives the following options:
- 20 turning 21 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 278 AC
- 21 turning 22 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 277 AC
According to a semi-canon source, Renly was "a boy of six at the time of Robert's Rebellion".[34] Robert's Rebellion took place in the latter part of 282 AC and a large part of 283 AC. Having been six years old during the war, would give Renly the following options:
- 5 turning 6 in 282 AC, placing his birth in 276 AC
- 6 turning 7 in 282 AC, placing his birth in 275 AC
- 5 turning 6 in 283 AC, placing his birth in 277 AC
- 6 turning 7 in 283 AC, placing his birth in 276 AC
The only overlapping year between the two sets of possibilities is 277 AC, meaning that Renly was twenty-one turning twenty-two in 299 AC, and five turning six in 283 AC, and that he was born in 277 AC.
Note: Eddard Stark mentions that Renly had been a boy of eight when Robert won the throne.[35] Renly having been eight years old in 283 AC would give the following options of birth:
- 7 turning 8 in 283 AC, placing his birth in 275 AC
- 8 turning 9 in 283 AC, placing his birth in 274 AC
Eddard's recollection does not align with the several statements of Renly's age as given in 299 AC, where Maester Cressen, Catelyn Tully, and Brienne of Tarth all give Renly's age as twenty-one (with birth options of 277 AC and 278 AC). Considering the closer relationsip of both Cressen and Brienne to Renly, and the fact that their statements are repeated on several occassions, Eddard's recollection of Renly's age at the time of the Rebellion's end appears to be incorrect.
Renly Norcross
Birth
Renly Norcross is two years old in 299 AC.[24] He is three years old in 300 AC.[25] That gives Renly the following options:
- 1 turning 2 in 299 AC, and 2 turning 3 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 297 AC
- 2 turning 3 in 299 AC, and 3 turning 4 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 296 AC
No further specifications can be given. Renly was thus born in either 296 AC or 297 AC.
Rhae Targaryen
Birth
Rhae Targaryen was younger than her brother Aegon, who was born in 200 AC (see Aegon V Targaryen). That means that Rhae was born no earlier than one year later, in 201 AC.
Rhae's mother had died by the time of the Tourney at Ashford in 209 AC.[36] So technically, 209 AC is Rhae's last possible moment of birth.
No further specifications can be given. Rhae was thus born in or between 201 AC and 209 AC.
Note: That neither Maekar, nor Daeron, Aerion or Aegon are still in deep mourning over their mother, would indicate that Dyanna Dayne had been dead for at least a while. A second indication is that Rhae was old enough, at some point in or before 209 AC, to put a love potion in the drink of her brother Aegon, suggesting she was born closer to 201 AC than to 209 AC.
Rhaegar Frey
Birth
Rhaegar Frey would have been at least twelve years old when his eldest child, Robert, was born. Robert was born in 286 AC (see Robert Frey (son of Rhaegar)), meaning Rhaegar was born the latest twelve years prior to 286 AC, in 274 AC.
Rhaegar was the second born son of Aenys Frey. Aenys was born no earlier than 237 AC (see Aenys Frey), meaning that Rhaegar cannot have been born earlier than thirteen years later, in 250 AC.
However, according to Davos Seaworth, Rhaegar is thirty years old at the maximum, or close to thirty years old.[37] Being 30 years old in 300 AC (with thus as a maximum being 30 turning 31 in 300 AC) would place Rhaegars birth in 269 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rhaegar was thus born in or between 269 AC and 274 AC.
Rhaegel Targaryen
Birth
Rhaegel Targaryen was the thirdborn son of Daeron II. He was born at least two years after his eldest brother Baelor, who was born in 170 AC (see Baelor Targaryen (son of Daeron II)). This would make the year 172 AC the first possible birth year of Rhaegel.
However, Rhaegel's aunt, Daenerys, was born in 172 AC (see Daenerys Targaryen (daughter of Aegon IV)). As Daenerys was born before Rhaegel's older brother Aerys, Aerys could thus have been born in 172 AC the earliest (later in the year than Daenerys), meaning that Rhaegel’s first possible year of birth is a year later, in 173 AC.
Rhaegel was born at least one year before his brother Maekar. Maekar's last possible year of birth was 179 AC (see Maekar I Targaryen), meaning that Rhaegel was born no later than 178 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rhaegel was thus born in or between 173 AC and 178 AC.
Rhaella Targaryen
Birth
Rhaella Targaryen's firstborn child Rhaegar was born in 259 AC. She would have been at least twelve years old at his birth, meaning that she was born no later than 247 AC.
Rhaella is known to have been younger than her brother Aerys.[38] Aerys was eighteen years old when he ascended the throne in 262 AC.[39] That would mean that Rhaella was seventeen years old, or younger, in 262 AC, placing her birth in 245 AC or later.
No further specification can be given. Rhaella was thus born in either 245 AC, 246 AC or 247 AC.
Death
Rhaella Targaryen died when giving birth to Daenerys Targaryen. Daenerys was born in 284 AC (see Daenerys Targaryen).
Rhaella thus died in 284 AC.
Rhaelle Targaryen
Birth
Rhaelle Targaryen was the youngest child of Aegon V.[38] Rhaelle's first elder sibling, Prince Daeron, was born in 228 AC (see Daeron Targaryen (son of Aegon V)). This means that Rhaelle was born in 229 AC the earliest.
Rhaelle's firstborn (and possibly only) son was born in 246 AC.[40] Rhaelle would have been at least twelve years old at his birth, placing her birth no later than 234 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rhaelle was thus born in or between 229 AC and 234 AC.
Death
Rhaelle Targaryen gave birth to Steffon Baratheon in 246 AC.[40]
No further specifications can be given. Rhaelle thus died in 246 AC or after.
Rhaena Targaryen (daughter of Aegon III)
Birth
Rhaena Targaryen was two years younger than her sister Daena,[41] who was born in 145 AC (see Daena Targaryen). This places Rhaena's birth in 147 AC.
Death
Rhaena Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne was passed over after the death of King Baelor I in 171 AC.[42]
No further specifications can be given. Rhaena thus died in 171 AC or after.
Rhaenys Targaryen
Birth
Rhaenys Targaryen has been mentioned to have been “a year or two” younger than her brother Aegon, [43] who has been mentioned to have been born in 27 BC.[44] This means that Rhaenys was born in either 26 BC or 25 BC.
Rickard Redwyne
Birth
Rickard Redwyne was knighted in 55 AC.[45] Rickard having been knighted in 55 AC means that he was at least fifteen years old by then. This places his birth no later than 40 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rickard was thus born in or before 40 AC.
Rickard Stark
Birth
Rickard Stark's eldest son Brandon was born in 262 AC.[39] Rickard would have been at least twelve years old when Brandon was born, meaning that Rickard cannot have been born later than 250 AC.
Grand Maester Pycelle tells Rickard's son Ned that King Maekar's summer took place before Rickard was born. King Maekar ruled from 221 AC until 233 AC, and this summer lasted seven years during his reign.[46] The winter that followed this summer began in 231 AC,[47] though it is unknown how long the autumn had lasted. The autumn is mentioned to have been short, by Pycelle,[46] however, suggesting one, perhaps one and a half years, compared to other autumns. Thus, the summer ended in 230/231 AC. This shows that Rickard Stark, Ned's father, was born no earlier than 230 AC. However, since it is stated that the summer had been long forgotten,[46] it suggests that at the time of Rickards birth, the winter following Maekar's summer had already begun, or there had been several other years that had passed as well, meaning that Rickard most likely had been born no earlier than several years after 230 AC, though no specificity can be given on how many years after 230 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rickard Stark was thus born in or between 230 AC and 250 AC.
Rickard Wylde
Birth
Rickard Wylde has been mentioned to have been four years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being four years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 3 turning 4 in 299 AC, and 4 turning 5 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 295 AC.
Rickard was thus born in 295 AC.
Rickon Stark
Birth
Rickon Stark was three years old when the direwolves are found[48] and during the welcoming feast at Winterfell.[49] Both events occur in 298 AC, giving the following options:
- 2 turning 3 in 298 AC, 3 turning 4 in 299 AC, 4 turning 5 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 295 AC
- 3 turning 4 in 298 AC, 4 turning 5 in 299 AC, 5 turning 6 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 294 AC
Rickon was “near four” when Robb left for war,[50] and he was four when the news of Ned's death reached Winterfell. Rickon was still four when Theon Greyjoy attacked Winterfell. After the Sack of Winterfell Rickon is still four.[24] In 300 AC, Rickon is still four years old.[25] This shows that the only correct option for Rickon is 3 turning 4 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 295 AC.
Rickon was thus born in 295 AC.
Rickon Stark (son of Benjen)
Birth
Rickon Stark's son Cregan was born in 108 AC (See Cregan Stark). As Rickon would have been at least twelve years old at the birth of his son, Rickon had thus been born no later than 96 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rickon was thus born in or before 96 AC.
Robar Royce
Birth
Robar Royce is of an age with Renly Baratheon.[51] Renly was born in 277 AC (see Renly Baratheon). This means that Robar was born roughly speaking around 277 AC, though he might have been born a year or two earlier or later.
Robard Cerwyn
Birth
Robard Cerwyn had at least one child.[14] The child could not have been born later than the year after his death. Robard died no later than 298 AC, so the child was born no later than 299 AC. Robard would have been at least 12 years old at the birth, so he was born no later than 287 AC.
Death
Robard was married to Aregelle Stark, with whom he had at least one child.[14] Robard cannot have died earlier than the year before the child was born. Aregelle, born no earlier than 154 AC (see Aregelle Stark), would have been at least 12 years old at childbirth. Therefore the child was born no earlier than 166 AC, and Robard died no earlier than 165 AC.
Robard was Lord of Cerwyn.[52] By 298 AC, Medger Cerwyn was the lord,[50] so Robard died no later than 298 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Robard thus died in or between 165 AC and 298 AC.
Robb Stark
Birth
Robb Stark is fourteen years old in 298 AC.[53] He has turned fifteen at an unknown moment in time.[54] Robb Stark is mentioned to have turned sixteen in 299 AC (this remark is made after the ploy to free Jaime Lannister, created by Tyrion Lannister, has been tried and failed; Tyrion Lannister made the ploy on the day of Joffrey's thirteenth nameday, an event known to take place in 299 AC; the remark is also made before the Purple Wedding, which takes place on the first day of 300 AC).[55] This means that Robb was 15 turning 16 in 299 AC, showing that Robb was born in 283 AC.
Death
Robb Stark dies at the Twins during the Red Wedding. The news of his death reach King's Landing before the wedding of Joffrey Baratheon, which would occur on the first day of 300 AC. This shows that the news of Robb's death reach King's Landing in 299 AC. Robb is sixteen years old upon his death. Since Robb was born in 283 AC, he had turned sixteen in 299 AC.
Robb Stark thus died in 299 AC.
Robert Arryn
Birth
Robert Arryn is six years old in 298 AC.[56][57][58] Catelyn Tully remarks how she had last seen her sister Lysa, Robert's mother, five years ago. Robert had been less than a year old.[57] With Robert Arryn being less than a year old in 293 AC,[57] and with him being six years old halfway through 298 AC,[56][57] and eight in early 300 AC,[59][60] gives the following option:
- 8 in 300 AC gives:
- 8 turning 9, placing his birth in 291 AC
- 7 turning 8, placing his birth in 292 AC
- 6 in 298 AC gives:
- 6 turning 7, placing his birth in 291 AC
- 5 turning 6, placing his birth in 292 AC
- Less than 1 in 293 AC gives:
- Born in 293 AC
- Turning 1 in 293 AC, placing his birth in 292 AC
With 292 AC as the only overlapping year, Robert Arryn was thus born in 292 AC.
Robert Blackwood
Birth
Robert Blackwood is at least one year younger than his older sister, Bethany Blackwood,[26] who was born in either 291 or 292 AC (see Bethany Blackwood). Robert was thus born no earlier than 292 AC.
Robert died in 300 AC,[61] he was thus born no later than that year.
No further specifications can be given. Robert was thus born in or between 292 AC and 300 AC.
Robert Brax
Birth
Robert Brax is the older brother of Ser Flement Brax,[62] who was born at the latest in 278 AC (see Flement Brax)). Since there is at least one year in between the births of the two brothers, Robert could not have been born any later than 277 AC. No further specifications can be given.
Robert Brax (son of Flement)
Birth
Robert Brax has been mentioned to have been nine years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being 9 years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 8 turning 9 in 299 AC, and 9 turning 10 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 290 AC.
Robert was thus born in 290 AC.
Robert Frey (son of Raymund)
Birth
Robert Frey has been mentioned to have been sixteen years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being 16 years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 15 turning 16 in 299 AC, and 16 turning 17 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 283 AC.
Robert was thus born in 283 AC.
Robert Frey (son of Rhaegar)
Birth
Robert Frey has been mentioned to have been thirteen years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being 13 years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 12 turning 13 in 299 AC, and 13 turning 14 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 286 AC.
Robert Redwyne
Birth
Robert Redwyne was the older brother of Rickard Redwyne.[11] Robert would have been at least one year older than Rickard. As Rickard was born no later than 40 AC (see Rickard Redwyne), Robert had been born no later than one year earlier, meaning that Robert could not have been born later than 39 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Robert was thus born in or before 39 AC.
Robert Rowan
Birth
Robert Rowan was the eldest son of Lord Thaddeus Rowan,[4] who was born in 76 AC (see Thaddeus Rowan). As Thaddeus would have been at least twelve years old at the birth of Robert, Robert could not have been born any earlier than 88 AC.
Robert had been knighted by 134 AC.[4] As he would have been at least fifteen years old at receiving his knighthood, he could not have been born any later than 119 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Robert was thus born in between 88 AC and 119 AC.
Robin Greyjoy
Birth
Robin Greyjoy was the ninth son of Quellon Greyjoy.[63] He would have been at least nine months younger than his older brother Aeron, Quellon's eighth son. As Aeron and Robin have different mothers,[63] following rule #2, it is possible that they were born in the same year. Aeron was born in 269 AC the earliest (see Aeron Greyjoy), indicating that Robin cannot have been born any earlier than that same year, thus 269 AC as well.
Robin did not live to manhood,[19] and thus died before turning sixteen. When his mother, of House Piper, died, she was pregnant with a daughter. This daughter thus would have been at least one year younger than Robin. The girl cannot have been conceived any later than when their father left the Iron Islands on his final voyage, in 283 AC.[64] With her last possible moment of conception in 283 AC, her last possible year of birth will have been 284 AC, nine months later. This means that Robin cannot have been born any later that one year before, in 283 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Robin was thus born in or between 269 AC and 283 AC.
Robin Penrose
Birth
Robin Penrose was the eldest child of Ronnel Penrose and Elaena Targaryen.[38] As the marriage of Elaena and Ronnel both began and ended during the reign of King Daeron II (184–209 AC)[62][65] Robin could have been born in 184 AC the earliest.
As Robin's mother Elaena was born in 150 AC (see Elaena Targaryen), she would have reached the end of her child-bearing years near 200 AC, when she turned 50. Robin was the first of four children of Ronnel and Elaena, indicating that he could not have been born any later than roughly 197 AC, when Elaena was 47 years old.
No further specifications can be given. Robin was thus born in or between 184 AC and ~197 AC.
Robin Ryger
Birth
Robin Ryger is of an age with Hoster Tully, in 299 AC [66] who was born in or between 238 AC and 240 AC (see Hoster Tully). That would place Robins birth roughly in or between 238 AC and 240 AC as well.
Robyn Ryswell
Birth
Robyn Ryswell was married to Jonnel Stark.[14] She cannot have been born after he died. Jonnel died no later than 209 AC (see Jonnel Stark), so Robyn was born no later than 209 AC.
Death
Robyn was Jonnel's second wife.[67] She cannot have died before her husband's first wife, Sansa Stark,[14] died. Sansa was born no earlier than 141 AC (see Sansa Stark (daughter of Rickon)), so Robyn died no earlier than 141 AC.
Rodrik Arryn
Birth
Rodrik Arryn was ten years old in 54 AC.[10] As the source of his age concerns a historical work, following rule #3, Rodrik was thus born in 44 AC.
Death
Rodrik Arryn was still alive when his second wife passed away in 82 AC.[11] Lady Jeyne Arryn's father was the Lord of the Eyrie until his death when Jeyne was three.[68] As Jeyne was born in 94 AC (see Jeyne Arryn), her father had died in 97 AC. Given that Jeyne is known not to have been one of Rodrik's daughters, Rodrik had thus predeceased Jeyne's father. As such, by the time Jeyne's father died, Rodrik had already been dead. As Rodrik could have died the same year as Jeyne's father, Rodrik died no later than 97 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Rodrik thus died in or between 82 AC and 97 AC.
Rodrik Cassel

Thus, Ronald could have died no earlier than 292 AC.
In 300 AC, Ronald is said to have died "years ago",[78] implying at least a minimum of two years. That would place Ronald's death no later than 298 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Ronald thus died in or between 292 AC and 298 AC.

- 13 turning 14 in 300 AC, which would place his birth in 286 AC
- 14 turning 15 in 300 AC, which would place his birth in 285 AC
It is stated that Roone will turn sixteen in two years from 300 AC.[84] This indicates that in 302 AC, Roone will turn sixteen, which would place his birth in 286 AC.
Roone was thus born in 286 AC.
Roose Bolton
Birth
Roose Bolton is well past fourty in 300 AC.[85] That places his birth before 260 AC. The time of birth of his son Domeric Bolton was between 273–281 AC[86] and the fact that Domeric was the son of his second wife makes it more likely that his birth was a number of years before 260. No further specifications can be given.

Roslin Frey
Birth
Roslin Frey is 16 years old at the day of her wedding, in late 299 AC.[88] This gives the following options for Roslin:
- 15 turning 16 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 283 AC
- 16 turning 17 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 282 AC
With Roslin still being 16 so very late in the year, it is most likely that Roslin had turned 16 in 299 AC, and was thus born in 283 AC, with a small possibility that Roslin would turn 17 in the last few days of the year, which would place her birth in 282 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Roslin was thus born in either 282 AC or 283 AC.
Roy Connington
Birth
Roy Connington was fifteen years old in 82 AC.[11] As the source for his age concerns a historical work, rule #3 applies, placing Roy's birth in 67 AC.
Death
Roy Connington was sentenced to a 10-year-exile from Westeros in 84 AC, but he died half a year before his exile was supposed to end.[11] As his exile would have ended in 94 AC, Roy thus died in either the second half of 93 AC or in 94 AC.

Ryam's father, Manfryd Redwyne, was named master of ships, as well as lord admiral,[10] in 50 AC. Ryam was a squire at this time meaning he would have been at least eight years old. Therefore Ryam was eight or older in 50 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Ryam was thus born in or before 42 AC.
Ryella Frey
Birth
Ryella Frey has been mentioned to have been 5 years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being five years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means she was 4 turning 5 in 299 AC, and 5 turning 6 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 294 AC.
Ryman Frey
Birth
Ryman Frey is judged to be "past forty" by his young cousins Walder and Walder in 299 AC.[91] However, Catelyn Tully judges Ryman's younger brother Aegon to be fifty, which means Aegon was born in roughly 249 AC (see Aegon Frey (son of Stevron)). As Aegon and Ryman have different mothers (Jeyne Lydden and Corenna Swann respectively), it is possible they were born in the same year. With 249 AC as Aegon's roughly determined year of birth, Ryman could have been born no later than ~249 AC as well.
With Rymans father Stevron born in 233 AC the earliest (see Stevron Frey), Ryman cannot have been born earlier than twelve years later, making 245 AC the first possible year of birth for Ryman.
No further specifications can be given. Ryman was thus born in or between 245 AC and ~249 AC.

Samwell Tarly
Birth
Samwell Tarly is mentioned to have passed his 15th nameday in 298 AC, meaning he is at least fifteen years old in 298 AC. Sam's arrival happens roughly halfway through the year, and he left for Castle Black the day of his fifteenth nameday (and the travel would have taken roughly three to four months if it was completely by horse). This places his fifteenth nameday in 298 AC.
It can also be said Samwell's nameday takes place early in the year, as Samwell is mentioned to have been a man grown by law (thus sixteen years old) in early 299 AC, after the white raven from the Citadel has arrived.[96] The white ravens are send out after the Red Comet has appeared in the sky. The Red Comet appears in 299 AC (see 298 AC to 299 AC).
Samwell having turned fifteen in 298 AC, means that he was born in 283 AC.

Birth
Sandor Frey has been mentioned to have been twelve years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being twelve years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 11 turning 12 in 299 AC, and 12 turning 13 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 287 AC.
Sandor was thus born in 287 AC.
Sansa Stark
Birth
Sansa Stark is eleven years old in 298 AC[56], and two years older than her sister Arya,[49] who was born in 289 AC (see Arya Stark). Sansa is twelve in 299 AC,[98] and tells Tyrion Lannister near the end of the year that she'll turn thirteen “in a moons turn”,[99] indicating that maximally a month from that moment on, she'll have turned thirteen. Since this observation is made so close to the beginning of 300 AC, the possibility exists that 300 AC is less than a month away, which gives rise to the possibility that Sansa turns thirteen 300 AC.
The minimum amount of time that passes from the moment of Sansa's statement until the first day of 300 AC can be determined:
- From Sansa's wedding until arrival of the news at Riverrun = 4 day minimum (see Note #1)
- From arrival of the news of Sansa's wedding, until Hoster Tully's funeral = 1 day[88]
- From funeral of Hoster Tully until the departude from Riverrun = 1 day (minimum) [88]
- A minimum of 19 days traveling from Riverrun to the Twins[100]
- From Green Fork to Twins = 1 day minimum[101]
- From arrival at the Twins until the Red Wedding = 0 days[101]
- From news of Red Wedding until King's Landing = 4 day minimum (see Note #1)
It can be concluded that a minimum of thirty days days pass between Sansa's wedding and Joffrey's wedding to Margaery on the first day of the 300th year After the Conquest, and thus that Sansa turns thirteen in 299 AC, placing her birth in 286 AC.
It should be noted that, when the news of the Red Wedding reaches King's Landing, Joffrey Baratheon believes there is still time for a raven to reach the Twins, and for a rider to return from the Twins to King's Landing with Robb Stark's head, before Joffrey's wedding on the first day of 300 AC.[102] This suggests there are still several weeks (about a fortnight) between the news reaching King's Landing, and the beginning of 300 AC, thereby confirming Sansa’s nameday taking place in late 299 AC.
Note #1: The minimum of four days travel for the ravens from King's Landing to the Twins and back, is a distance guessed, compared to the distance between Oxcross and King's Landing, and the fact a raven needs 6 days to cross that distance.
Note #2: But Arya and Sansa are said to be two years apart in age, as told from their points of view? Yes, that's true. Looking at Arya and Sansa a bit closer, and the placement of their namedays in the years, we see that Arya's nameday falls in the first few months of the year, while Sansa's nameday thus falls within the last month of the year. Whilst the number of years in between the two girls suggests a gap of three years, with Arya having been born close after the turning of the year, and Sansa close to the turning of the year, the gap in between the two sisters is two years and a few short months, which would then be rounded down to 2 years in speaking terms. This also gives a look in the age differences between Catelyn and Lysa Tully (see Catelyn Tully and Lysa Tully). With Catelyn and Lysa two years apart, Catelyn later admits that she and Lysa are further apart in age than Arya and Sansa, showing that Catelyn and Lysa differ in age between 2 years and a few months, and 2 years and 6 months (since 2,5 years would be rounded up to 3, mathematically speaking).
Sansa Stark (daughter of Rickon)
Birth
Sansa Stark was the eldest daughter of Rickon Stark,[103][104] who was born in 128 AC.[68] Rickon would have been at least twelve years old at the moment of Sansa's birth, meaning 140 AC is the earliest year possible for Sansa's birth.
Sansa would have been born at least one year before her younger sister, Serena. Serena was born no later than 162 (see Serena Stark), meaning that Sansa had been born no later than 161 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Sansa was thus born in or between 140 AC and 161 AC.
Death
Lord Jonnel Stark, Sansa Stark's husband, married Robyn Ryswell after the death of Sansa.[14][105] As Jonnel died no later than 209 AC (see Jonnel Stark), Sansa could not have died no later than 209 AC.

- 14 turning 15 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 284 AC
Sarra's older brother Malwyn was born in 284 AC (see Malwyn Frey). Sarra would have been born at least one year after Malwyn, leaving only the option 285 AC.
Sarra Frey was thus born in 285 AC.
Sarra Stark
Birth
Sarra Stark was the eldest child of Lord Cregan Stark by his second wife, Lady Alysanne Blackwood.[14] Cregan and Alysanne were married in 132 AC, after the death of Corlys Velaryon on the sixth day of the third moon of 132 AC.[89] Therefore, even if Alysanne became pregnant with Sarra on her wedding night, Sarra could not have been born in 132 AC. As such, the earliest possible year of birth for Sarra is 133 AC.
Sarra would have been at least one year older than her younger sister, Alys Stark.[14] As the latest possible year of birth for Alys is 163 AC (see Alys Stark), Sarra would have been born no later than 162 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Sarra was thus born in or between 133 AC and 162 AC.
Sarya Whent
Death
Sarya Whent was the fifth wife of Lord Walder Frey. She died after the death of Walder's fourth wife, Alyssa Blackwood, and before the marriage of Walder and his sixth wife, Bethany Rosby.[23] We do not know when Walder married Bethany but we have a range of years for the birth of their first child, Perwyn Frey.[23] He was born in or between 269 and 278 AC (see Perwyn Frey). This range is the same as the range of years for the death of Alyssa (see Alyssa Blackwood). Therefore the range of years for the death of Sarya is also the same.
No further specifications can be given. Sarya thus died in or between 269 AC and 278 AC.

- 18 turning 19 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 280 AC
- 17 turning 18 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 282 AC
- 18 turning 19 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 281 AC

- 53 turning 54 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 246 AC
- 54 turning 55 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 245 AC
No further specifications can be given. Selwyn was thus born in either 245 AC or 246 AC.
Serena Stark
Birth
Serena Stark was the second daughter of Rickon Stark,[103][104] who was born in 128 AC.[68] Serena had an older sister, Sansa Stark. Sansa had been born no earlier than 140 AC (see Sansa Stark (daughter of Rickon)). As Serena would have been at least one year younger than Sansa, Serena was thus born no earlier than 141 AC.
Serena's father Rickon died during the Conquest of Dorne (157–161 AC).[107] As Serena could have been born no more than nine months after Rickon's death at the latest, and Rickon died no later than 161 AC, Serena thus could not have been born after 162 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Serena was thus born in or between 141 AC and 162 AC.
Death
Serena cannot have died before her youngest child, Aregelle Stark,[14] was born. Aregelle was born no earlier than 154 AC (see Aregelle Stark), so Serena died no earlier than 154 AC.
Serenei of Lys
Birth
Serenei of Lys had one daughter, Shiera Seastar.[87] She would have been at least twelve years old at the moment of Shiera's birth. Since 184 AC is the latest possible year of birth for Shiera (see Shiera Seastar), this means that 172 AC is the latest possible year of birth for Serenei.
Following rule #5, Serenei was no older than ~52 years old at the birth of her child, Shiera Seastar,[87] who was born no earlier than 178 AC (see Shiera Seastar). Therefore Serenei would have been born no earlier than ~126 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Serenei was thus born in or between ~126 AC and 172 AC.
Death
Serenei of Lys died while giving birth to Shiera Seastar,[87] who was born in or between 178 and 184 AC (see Shiera Seastar).
No further specifications can be given. Serenei thus died in or between 178 AC and 184 AC.

Birth
Shae is known to have been eighteen in 299 AC.[108][109] That gives her the following options:
- 17 turning 18 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 281 AC
- 18 turning 19 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 280 AC
No further specifications can be given. Shae was thus born in either 280 AC or 281 AC.
Shaera Targaryen
Birth
Shaera Targaryen was fourteen years old when she got married in 240 AC.[47] As the source is a historical work, rule #3 applies, meaning that Shaera was turning 14 in 240 AC, placing her birth in 226 AC.
Death
The last mention of Shaera Targaryen is during the reign of King Jaehaerys II, in either late 259 AC, or early 260 AC, at the onset of the War of the Ninepenny Kings.[110] That means that Shaera died in either 259 AC or later.
Sharra Arryn
Birth
Sharra Arryn was ten years older than Aegon I Targaryen.[111] Aegon I Targaryen was born in 27 BC.[111] That places Sharra's birth in 37 BC.
Sheepstealer
Birth
Sheepstealer was born on Dragonstone when the Old King Jaehaerys I Targaryen "was still young",[95] which means not earlier than 34 AC (it's unclear if that means in the early years of reign of Jaehaerys, thus in or after 48 AC, or, more generally, during his youth). Furthermore, Sheepstealer was younger than Vermithor, also born in 34 AC, since the Bronze Fury was the oldest and largest fighting dragon after Vhagar at the time of the Dance of the Dragons.[112][113]
No further specifications can be given. Sheepstealer was thus born in or after 35 AC.
Death
The last known sighting of Sheepstealer was in 136 AC,[4] and the last dragon died in 153 AC.[114]
No further specifications can be given. Sheepstealer thus died presumably between 136 AC and 153 AC.
Shiera Crakehall
Birth
Shiera Crakehall's eldest child, Lucion Lannister,[115] was born no later than 285 AC (see Lucion Lannister). Shiera would have been at least 12 years old at the birth, so she was born no later than 273 AC.
Shiera Seastar
Birth
Shiera Seastar was the youngest of the Great Bastards. She was born to Serenei of Lys, the last mistress of King Aegon IV. The previous mistress, Jeyne Lothston, had been send from court no earlier than 178 AC. That means that Serenei arrived no earlier than 178 AC, and thus Shiera was born no earlier than 178 AC.
Shiera was born before the death of Aegon IV. Aegon IV died in 184 AC.[87][62]
No further specifications can be given. Shiera was thus born in or between 178 AC and 184 AC.
Note: Shiera had many suitors, amongst them were her half-brothers, Aegor Rivers and Brynden Rivers, whose hatred towards each other only increase when Shiera choose Brynden over Aegor.[87] Shiera had to have chosen Brynden over Aegor at some time before Aegor's exile at the end of the First Blackfyre Rebellion in 196 AC. Considering Shiera was sexualy active by her own accord by 196 AC, she would have been born closer to 178 AC than 184 AC.
Death
Shiera Seastar was still alive in 211 AC.[75]
No further specifications can be given. Shiera thus died in 211 AC or after.
Shireen Baratheon
Birth
Shireen Baratheon is mentioned in early 299 AC to be turning ten on her next nameday, showing that in early 299 AC, she's still nine years old.[31] Shireen was nine years old in 298 AC as well.[62] Being nine in 298 AC and 299 AC means that Shireen was 8 turning 9 in 298 AC and 9 turning 10 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 289 AC.
Shirei Frey
Birth
Shirei Frey was six years old in 299 AC,[23][116] and seven years old in 300 AC.[25] This gives Shirei the following options:
- 5 turning 6 in 299 AC, and 6 turning 7 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 293 AC
- 6 turning 7 in 299 AC, and 7 turning 8 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 292 AC
No further specifications can be given. Shirei was thus born in either 292 AC or 293 AC.
Silverwing
Birth
Silverwing was said to have hatched from a dragon's egg placed in the cradle of Alysanne Targaryen in 36 AC.[117] Silverwing could thus not have been born earlier than 36 AC.
Silverwing contributed her flames to the funeral pyre of King Aenys I Targaryen in 42 AC.[117] Thus, Silverwing had been born by 42 AC the latest.
No further specifications can be given. Silverwing was thus born in or between 36 AC and 42 AC.
Death
Silverwing survived the Dance of the Dragons, and was known to be living at Red Lake in the Reach during the plans for the sixteenth nameday progress of King Aegon III Targaryen, which was in 136 AC.[114][4] Silverwing thus could not have died earlier than 136 AC.
The last dragon is known to have died in 153 AC.[114] Thus, Silverwing could not have died any later than 153 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Silverwing thus died in or between 136 AC and 153 AC.
Simon Dondarrion
Birth
Simon Dondarrion had been knighted by 55 AC,[45] meaning that he had the minimum age of 15. This would place his birth in 40 AC or before. No further specifications can be given.
Stafford Lannister
Birth
Stafford Lannister was the younger brother of Joanna Lannister, who was born no earlier than 244 AC (see Joanna Lannister). Thus, Stafford was born at least one year later than Joanna, making 245 AC his first possible year of birth.
Stafford is stated to have been a young squire in early 261 AC.[74] This gives him the minimum age of eight in 261 AC,[N 3] placing his birth no later than 253 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Stafford was thus born in or between 245 AC and 253 AC.
Stannis Baratheon
Birth
Stannis Baratheon was 34 years old in the early months of 299 AC.[31] This gives two options for Stannis:
- 33 turning 34 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 265 AC
- 34 turning 35 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 264 AC
In addition, we have the following quote from Stannis about his age in relation to Robert's:
I remember the first time my father took me to court, Robert had to hold my hand. I could not have been older than four, which would have made him five or six.[118]
This quote shows that while Stannis was four, Robert could be both five and six. This means that after Stannis turned four, Robert remained five for a while, before turning six. It is unknown, however, when in the year the namedays fall. There are two scenarios:
- Robert turns 6 the same year Stannis has turned 4, placing Robert's nameday after Stannis' nameday in the same year
- Robert turns 6 the year after Stannis has turned 4, placing Robert's nameday before Stannis' nameday in the year.
The first option gives an age difference of two years, the second option gives an age difference of one year.
It is also mentioned by Eddard Stark that Stannis was “a bare year” younger than Robert[119], indicating the two brothers were born a year apart, and not two, eliminating the first option, leaving only the second option.
However, it has been confirmed that Stannis was born in 264 AC, and that Robert was born in 262 AC,[39] meaning that “a bare year apart” would indicate that Robert was born rather late in the year 262 AC, and Stannis rather early in the year 264 AC (think about the last few and first few months of the respective years), leaving roughly a year in between the two brothers, when counting the months.
Stannis was thus born in 264 AC.
Note: In addition, Davos mentions that Stannis "could not have been much more than twenty" when he had the command at Storm's End,[120] during the Siege, indicating that Stannis had been twenty during the Siege at the eldest, but that he possibly had been younger. The Siege started in late 282 AC, lasting into 283 AC. If Stannis was twenty years or close to twenty during the Siege, that gives the following options:
- 18 turning 19 in 282 AC, placing his birth in 263 AC
- 19 turning 20 in 282 AC, placing his birth in 262 AC
- 18 turning 19 in 283 AC, placing his birth in 264 AC
- 19 turning 20 in 283 AC, placing his birth in 263 AC
As seen above, the only two options Stannis had in the first place were 264 AC and 265 AC. This eliminates both 263 AC and 262 AC as options for Stannis, leaving only 264 AC.
Making Stannis any younger during the Siege, would be in contrast with Davos's quote. If Stannis had been born in 265 AC, he would only have been sixteen or seventeen (depending on the timing of his nameday) at the beginning of the Siege, and seventeen or eighteen at the end of it. Though an age of eighteen years can be described as being close to twenty, being only seventeen years old, or younger, would truly be pushing the limit.
Both the timing of the mentioning of Stannis's age (the first month or the first half of the second month of 299 AC), and Stannis's age during the Siege for all available options, compared with Davos's quote, suggests that Stannis has yet to turn 35 in the year 299 AC, which would place his birth in 264 AC. This means Stannis was only seventeen or eighteen years old when the Siege at Storm's End began, and that he was either eighteen or nineteen when it ended.
Stannis Seaworth
Birth
Stannis Seaworth is nine years old in 299 AC.[23] Stannis is ten years old in 300 AC.[25] That gives Stannis the following options:
- 8 turning 9 in 299 AC, and 9 turning 10 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 290 AC
- 9 turning 10 in 299 AC, and 10 turning 11 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 289 AC
No further specifications can be given. Stannis was thus born in either 289 AC or 290 AC.
Steffon Baratheon
Birth
Steffon Baratheon's birth has been confirmed to have occurred in 246 AC.[40]
Death
Steffon Baratheon went across the Narrow Sea on the orders of King Aerys II in 278 AC.[39] He died on his way back. After his death, Tywin Lannister brought his daughter Cersei to court,[39] at the age of 12.[18] As Cersei was born in 266 AC,[39][74] she would have been turning twelve in 278 AC, and would have been twelve turning thirteen in 279 AC.
Since Steffon left on his mission in 278 AC, this means that Steffon died either in 278 AC or 279 AC.
Steffon's mission was to find a bride for Prince Rhaegar Targaryen,[31][39] in which he failed. Rhaegar was eventually betrothed to Elia Martell in early 279 AC,[39] indicating that Steffon's death could not have occurred later in that year.
No further specifications can be given. Steffon thus died in either 278 AC or early 279 AC.
Steffon Connington
Birth
Steffon Connington had been knighted by 132 AC.[89] As Steffon would have been at least fifteen years old at receiving his knighthood, he would have been born no later than 117 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Steffon Connington was thus born in or before 117 AC.
Steffon Frey
Birth
Steffon Frey is the eldest child of Walton Frey. Walton would have been at least twelve years old when Steffon was born. Walton was born no earlier than ~248 AC, meaning that Steffon cannot have been born earlier than ~260 AC.
Steffon would be older than his sister Walda Frey by at least a year. Walda Frey was born no later than 281 AC (see Walda Frey (daughter of Walton)), meaning that Steffon was born at least one year before the latest, thus in 280 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Steffon Frey was thus born in or between ~260 AC and 280 AC.
Steffon Hollard
Death
Steffon Hollard died "some years" before the Defiance of Duskendale,[80] which took place in 277 AC.[39] Therefore 275 AC is the last possible year of death for Steffon.
Steffon is the father of Dontos Hollard,[80] who was born at the earliest in 261 AC (see Dontos Hollard). Therefore 260 AC is the earliest possible year of death for Steffon.
No further specifications can be given. Steffon Hollard thus died in or between 260 AC and 275 AC.
Steffon Seaworth
Birth
Steffon Seaworth is six years old in 299 AC.[23] Steffon is still six years old in 300 AC.[25] That Steffon was six during born 299 AC and 300 AC, means he was 5 turning 6 in 299 AC, and 6 turning 7 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 293 AC.
Stevron Frey
Birth
Stevron Frey is known to have been past sixty in early 299 AC,[27] giving Stevron a minimum of being sixty-one years old in 299 AC. Big Walder Frey believes that Stevron was sixty-five years old when he died in 299 AC.[91] If Big Walder is correct in his statement, Stevron has the following options:
- 64 turning 65 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 234 AC
- 65 turning 66 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 233 AC
No further specifications can be given. Stevron was thus born in either 233 AC or 234 AC.
Note #1: However, Big Walder was also convinced that Stevron's eldest son Ryman was past forty in 299 AC.[91] Stevron's second born son, Aegon, was judged by Catelyn Stark to have been fifty years old. If Aegon Frey truly is fifty years old, Ryman would be at least one year older, 51, in the last days of 299 AC, placing his birth no later than 248 AC. This shows that even though Big Walder's statement is correct (being fifty-one years old is "past forty"), it is by no means exact.
If Ryman was indeed at least fifty-one years old in 299 AC, he would have been born at least in 248 AC, while Stevron was fourteen or fifteen years old. Seeing as how Stevron would have been at a minimum twelve years old at the birth of his first child, it would be possible for Stevron to have indeed been sixty-five years old when he died in 299 AC.
Note #2: Merrett Frey states in early 300 AC that Lord Walder had been grooming Stevron for ruling for sixty years.[121] It is very well possible that Merrett was rounding down the years. Another possibility is that Big Walder was wrong about Stevrons age, as he seems to have been wrong about Ryman's age as well.
Sumner Crakehall
Death
Sumner Crakehall is referred to as "old Sumner Crakehall" or "old Lord Sumner" on several occasions.[122][121][123] He was still alive when he participated in the campaign against the Kingswood Brotherhood[122][121] in 281 AC (see Final Battle against the Kingswood Brotherhood).
Roland Crakehall had inherited the title of Lord by the time the Sack of King's Landing occured[18] in 283 AC (see Robert's Rebellion/War of the Usurper), indicating that Sumner had died before this event.
No further specifications can be given. Sumner thus died in or between 281 AC and 283 AC.
Stonesnake
Birth
Stonesnake is near 50 years old in 299 AC.[124] “Near 50” shows Stonesneak is 49 years old at the latest, meaning he was born in or after 250 AC. Since the term “near” is used, it seems likely that Stonesneak is betweent he age of 46 and 49, placing his birth in or between 250 AC and 253 AC.
Sylva Santagar
Birth
Sylva Santagar is mentioned to be 23 years old in 300 AC,[125] which gives the following options:
- 22 turning 23 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 277 AC
- 23 turning 24 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 276 AC
No further specifications can be given. Sylva was thus born in either 276 AC or 277 AC.
Sylwa Paege
Birth
Sylwa Paege is the mother of Hoster and Merianne Frey.[23] Hoster, the older of the two,[23] was born in 287 AC (see Hoster Frey). Sylwa would have been at least twelve years old at Hoster's birth, meaning she could not have been born any later than 275 AC.
Following rule #5, Sylwa was no older than ~52 years old at the birth of her youngest child, Merianne,[23] who was born in 288 AC (see Merianne Frey). Therefore Sylwa would have been born no earlier than ~236 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Sylwa was thus born in or between ~236 AC and 275 AC.
Symond Frey
Birth
Symond Frey is younger than his sister Lythene by at least one year. Lythene was born the earliest in 250 AC (see Lythene Frey), meaning that Symonds earliest possible year of birth is 251 AC.
Symond is older than his younger brother Danwell by at least one year. Danwell was born in 261 AC the latest (see Danwell Frey), meaning that Symond was born no later than one year before, in 260 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Symond was thus born in or between 251 AC and 260 AC.

Taena of Myr
Birth
Taena of Myr is mentioned to have been a decade younger than Cersei Lannister,[126] who was born in 266 AC.[39] This would place Taena's birth roughly in 276 AC.
It can be said with certainty that Taena would have been at least twelve years old at the birth of her son, Russel. Russel was born in either 293 AC or 294 AC (see Russell Merryweather). Taena would thus have been twelve years old in 294 AC the latest, showing that Taena definitly was born by 282 AC, if not several years before.
No further specifications can be given. Taena was thus born in or before 282 AC.
Talla Tarly
Birth
Talla Tarly is the daughter of Lord Randyll Tarly, she and her two sisters were born in three years time in between the births of their two brothers, Samwell and Dickon Tarly.[13] The oldest brother, Samwell, was born in 283 AC (see Samwell Tarly), meaning that Talla was born no earlier than one year after, in 284 AC. The youngest brother, Dickon, was born at the latest in 290 AC (see Dickon Tarly), meaning that Talla was born no later than one year before, in 289 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Talla was thus born in or between 284 AC and 289 AC.
Tanda Stokeworth
Birth
Tanda Stokeworth's eldest daughter, Falyse,[23] was born no later than 264 AC (see Falyse Stokeworth). Tanda would have been at least twelve years old at the moment of Falyse's birth, meaning she could not have been born any later than 252 AC.
Following rule #5, Tanda was no older than ~52 years old at the birth of her youngest child, Lollys Stokeworth,[23] who was born in 265 AC (see Lollys Stokeworth). Therefore Tanda would have been born no earlier than ~213 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Tanda was thus born in or between ~213 AC and 252 AC.
Tattered Prince
Birth
The Tattered Prince is said to be past sixty in 300 AC.[127] That means the Tattered Prince is at least sixty-one years old, showing that the Tattered Prince was born in either 239 AC or before.
The Tattered Prince was twenty-three years old when he was chosen to be the next prince of Pentos, only hours after beheading the previous one.[127] It was the year 262 AC when the Tattered Prince was elected as prince of Pentos.[128]
Being twenty-three in 262 AC leaves the following options:
- 22 turning 23 in 262 AC, placing his birth in 239 AC
- 23 turning 24 in 262 AC, placing his birth in 238 AC
No further specifications can be given. The Tattered Prince was thus born in either 238 AC or 239 AC.
Teora Kyndall
Birth
Teora Kyndall's only child, Cerelle Lannister,[115] was born in 209 AC (see Cerelle Lannister (daughter of Tybolt)). Teora would have been at least 12 years old at the birth, so she was born no later than 197 AC.
Following rule #5, Teora was no older than ~52 years old at the birth of her child, Cerelle. Therefore Teora would have been born no earlier than ~157 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Teora was thus born in or between ~157 AC and 197 AC.
Death
Teora cannot have died before her only child, Cerelle Lannister,[115] was born. Cerelle was born in 209 AC (see Cerelle Lannister (daughter of Tybolt)), so Teora died no earlier than 209 AC.
Thaddeus Rowan
Birth
Thaddeus Rowan was "forty years" senior to Baela Targaryen,[89] who had been born in 116 AC.[129][93] As such, Thaddeus was born forty years before 116 AC, in 76 AC.
Theon Greyjoy
Birth
Theon Greyjoy was mentioned to be nineteen years old in 298 AC[130]:
- 18 turning 19 in 298 AC, placing his birth in 279 AC
- 19 turning 20 in 298 AC, placing his birth in 278 AC
In early 299 AC, Theon mentions he was taken away from Pyke ten years ago, when he was ten years old.[131] This would make Theon twenty years old in 299 AC:
- 19 turning 20, placing his birth in 279 AC
- 20 turning 21, placing his birth in 278 AC
No further specifications can be given. Theon was thus born in either 278 AC or 279 AC.
Therry
Birth
Therry is fourteen years old in 300 AC.[132] That gives him the following options:
- 13 turning 14 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 286 AC
- 14 turning 15 in 300 AC, placing hi sbirth in 285 AC
No further specifications can be given. Therry was thus born in either 285 AC or 286 AC.
Timett
Birth
Timett had not yet turned 20 in 298 AC.[133] Suggesting he was at the most 19 years old in 298 AC, though it is possible he would be turning 20 later that year, which would place his birth in 278 AC. Timett was thus born in 278 AC or later, though it seems Timett is at least 16 years old, leading his own group of warriors, which would place his birth no later than 282 AC (15 turning 16 in 298 AC).
No further specifications can be given. Timett was thus born in or between 278 AC and 282 AC.
Tion Frey
Birth
Tion Frey is older by at least a year than his brother Walder, who was born in 285 AC (see Walder Frey (son of Emmon)). This means that Tion was born at least one year before 285 AC, making 284 AC last possible year of birth for Tion.
Tion is also at least one year younger than his older brother Lyonel (see Lyonel Frey). Lyonel was born no earlier than 258 AC, meaning that Tion cannot have been born earlier than one year later, making 259 AC his first possible year of birth, theoretically.
However, Robb Stark estimates Tions age to be twelve or thirteen, when looking at Tion's corpse.[134] This shows that Tion cannot have been that much older than his younger brother Walder, who was born in 285 AC.
As such, Tion's theoretical range of birth is in or between 259 AC and 284 AC. In reality Tion most likely had not been much older than fifteen when he died in 299 AC, shortening the range of his years of birth. This because even though Tion must have been at least fifteen when he died, he was mistaken for a twelve year old or thirteen year old boy.
No further specifications can be given. Tion was thus born in or several years before 284 AC.
Tion Lannister
Birth
Tion Lannister was the firstborn child of Gerold Lannister and Rohanne Webber, together with his twin, Tywald.[115] As of 211 AC, Rohanne is not yet married to Gerold Lannister.[75] It is possible that Rohanne marries Gerold that year, though, meaning that technically, 211 AC is the first possible year of birth for Tion.
Tion was the older brother of Tytos Lannister,[74] who was born in 220 AC (see Tytos Lannister). Tion would have been at least one year older than Tytos, placing his birth no later than 119 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Tion was thus born in or between 211 AC and 219 AC.
Titus Peake (son of Unwin)
Birth
Titus Peake had grown to manhood by 130 AC,[3] meaning that he was at least 16 years old in 130 AC. As such, Titus had been born no later than 114 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Titus Peake was thus born in or before 114 AC.
Tom of Sevenstreams
Birth
Tom of Sevenstreams is said to be around 50 years old in 299 AC, by Arya Stark.[135] In 300 AC, Tom is said to be either 50 years old or older.[136] Being at least 50 in 299 AC, places Tom's birth no later than 249 AC.
Tom is stated to be in his fifties in 300 AC.[137] That places his age between 51 and 59 in 300 AC, with the possibility that he is 59 turning 60 later during that year. This gives Tom the following options:
- 50 having turned 51, placing his birth in 249 AC
- 51 turning 52, placing his birth in 248 AC
- 52 turning 53, placing his birth in 247 AC
- 53 turning 54, placing his birth in 246 AC
- 54 turning 55, placing his birth in 245 AC
- 55 turning 56, placing his birth in 244 AC
- 56 turning 57, placing his birth in 243 AC
- 57 turning 58, placing his birth in 242 AC
- 58 turning 59, placing his birth in 241 AC
- 59 turning 60, placing his birth in 240 AC
No further specifications can be given. Tom was thus born in or between 240 AC and 249 AC.
Tomard
Birth
Tomard is a man near 50 in 298 AC.[138] This shows that Tomard had not yet turned 50, but he would in a few years. Being 49 years old maximally in This places Tomards birth in or between 253 AC and 249 AC.
Tommen Baratheon
Birth
Tommen Baratheon is younger than his sister by one year.[139] Tommen is mentioned to have been seven years old during 298 AC.[48] In 299 AC, at Joffrey's nameday tourney, Tommen is mentioned to have been eight years old.[140] Also in 299 AC, after the Battle of the Blackwater, Tommen is described to be eight years old by his uncle Tyrion.[141] In 300 AC, after Joffrey's wedding, Tommen is described to be eight years old again, this time by his supposed uncle (actual father) Jaime.[122][142] Since Tommen is eight years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC, he was 7 turning 8 in 299 AC, and 8 turning 9 in 300 AC. This means that Tommen was born in 291 AC.
Toron Greyjoy
Birth
Toron Greyjoy was "not yet six" at the time of his father's death in 133 AC,[143] meaning Toron was five turning six in 133 AC.
Toron was thus born in 127 AC.
Torrhen Stark (son of Edric)
Birth
Torrhen Stark and his twin brother Cregard Stark are the eldest children of their mother, Serena Stark,[14] who was born no earlier than 140 AC (see Serena Stark). Serena would have been at least 12 years old at the birth, so Torrhen was born no earlier than 152 AC.
Torrhen and his twin's next youngest sibling, Arrana Stark,[14] was born no later than 209 AC (see Arrana Stark). Torrhen would have been born at least a year earlier, so he was born no later than 208 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Torrhen was thus born in or between 152 AC and 208 AC.
Tristifer Botley
Birth
Tristifer Botley was the same age as Asha Greyjoy when the two were found touching each other by Maester Qalen.[144] Tristifer's birth could not have occured more than one year apart from Asha's birth in 275 or 276 AC (see Asha Greyjoy).
No further specifications can be given. Tristifer was thus born in or between 274 AC and 277 AC.
Trystane Martell
Birth
Trystane Martell is eleven years old in 299 AC,[145] and thirteen years old in 300 AC.[146] Being eleven in 299 AC leaves the following options:

As it is possible Tyland would turn sixteen later that year, this places his birth no earlier than 89 AC.
In 112 AC, Tyland had already been knighted.[129] As knighthood is generally received no earlier than the age of fifteen,[N 4] Tyland cannot have been younger than 15 in 112 AC, thereby placing his birth no later than 97 AC.

- 4 turning 5 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 294 AC
No further specifications can be given. Walda was thus born in either 294 AC or 295 AC.
Walder Brax
Birth
Walder Brax has been mentioned to have been six years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being six years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 5 turning 6 in 299 AC, and 6 turning 7 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 293 AC.
Walder was thus born in 293 AC.
Walder Frey
Birth
Walder Frey is mentioned to be taking a new wife upon his 90th nameday in 298 AC.[156] At this point, Walder is still 89 years old. When Catelyn Stark visits the Twins, Walder has turned 90.[27] This event takes place in 299 AC (see Walder Frey (son of Jammos) and 298 AC to 299 AC).
When riding towards the Twins for the wedding of Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey, it is stated that Lord Walder is now (299 AC) 91 years old.[101] Being 89 in 298 AC and both 90 and 91 in 299 AC can only be if Walder had been 89 turning 90 in 298 AC, and 90 turning 91 in 299 AC. Lord Walder Frey was thus born in 208 AC.
As a second addition, Lord Walder is mentioned to be turning 92 “soon” in early 300 AC.[121]
Walder Frey (son of Ryman)
Birth
Black Walder Frey is the second born son of Ryman Frey. He is younger than his brother Edwyn, but older than his brother Petyr. Petyr was born in 281 AC (see Petyr Frey), meaning that Walder was born at least one year before, in 280 AC. 280 AC is thus Walder's last possible moment of birth.
Edwyn was born in 257 AC the earliest (see Edwyn Frey). This means that Walder cannot have been born earlier than one year later than Edwyn, thus in 258 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Black Walder was thus born in or between 258 AC and 280 AC.
Walder Frey (son of Jammos)
Birth
Big Walder Frey is 52 days older than Little Walder.[157] Both children are eight years old in 300 AC.[158] Being eight years old in 300 AC gives the following options:
- 7 turning 8, born in 292 AC
- 8 turning 9, born in 291 AC
When Catelyn Stark accepts them as wards, Big Walder had already turned eight, and Little Walder is still seven.[27] It is unknown whether Catelyn Stark accepts the two boys in 298 AC or in 299 AC. Thus, the possible options are:
- In 298 AC, being 7 turning 8, placing his birth in 290 AC
- In 298 AC, being 8 turning 9, placing his birth in 289 AC
- In 299 AC, being 7 turning 8, placing his birth in 291 AC
- In 299 AC, being 8 turning 9, placing his birth in 290 AC
For Big Walder, the elder of the two boys, the only overlapping year is 291 AC. Walder Frey was thus born in 291 AC.
Note: This also means that Walder was accepted as a ward by Catelyn in 299 AC, placing everything that happens after the Twins in 299 AC.
Walder Frey (son of Merrett)
Birth
Little Walder Frey is 52 days younger than cousin Big Walder.[157] Both children are eight years old in 300 AC, and when Catelyn Stark accepts them as wards, Big Walder had already turned eight, and Little Walder is still seven.[27] In 300 AC, Little Walder is eight years old.[158] In addition, before the year 300 AC has ended, Little Walder has turned nine.[159]
Big Walder was born in 291 AC (see Walder Frey (son of Jammos)). This means that Little Walder must have been born in 291 AC as well, since there are more than 52 days between Catelyn accepting the two boys as wards, and the first day of 300 AC taking place.
In addition, Little Walder's year of birth can be proven on its own. Little Walder is mentioned to be both eight[158] and nine[159] in 300 AC, showing that he was 8 turning 9 in 300 AC, and thus confirming he was born in 291 AC.
Walder Frey (son of Emmon)
Birth
Red Walder Frey has been mentioned to have been fourteen years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25]. Being fourteen years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 13 turning 14 in 299 AC, and 14 turning 15 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 285 AC.
Walder Goodbrook
Birth
Walder Goodbrook has been mentioned to have been nine in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being nine years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 8 turning 9 in 299 AC, and 9 turning 10 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 290 AC.
Walder Haigh
Birth
Walder Haigh is mentioned to be four years old in 299 AC[23], and five in 300 AC.[25] Being four in 299 AC gives the following options:
- 3 turning 4, placing his birth in 295 AC
- 4 turning 5, placing his birth in 294 AC
Being five in 300 AC gives the following options:
- 4 turning 5, placing his birth in 295 AC
- 5 turning 6, placing his birth in 294 AC
No further specifications can be given. Walder was thus born in either 294 AC or 295 AC.
Walder Vance
Birth
Walder Vance is a squire in 299 AC,[23] meaning he would minimally have been turning 8 in 299 AC.[N 3] That would make his last possible year of birth 291 AC.
Walder's mother was born in ~250 AC the earliest (see Maegelle Frey). Since Walder is the second child of his mother, his mother would have been at least thirteen years old when he was born, meaning that Walder's first possible year of birth was thirteen years after ~250 AC, placing his birth in ~263 AC the earliest, theoretically.
No further specifications can be given. Walder was thus born in or between ~263 AC and 291 AC.
Note: Walder's sister is at least one year older than him, and she is still a maiden unwed in 300 AC, suggesting she is still rather young, which would suggest that Walder is still young as well in 300 AC.
Walderan Tarbeck
Birth
Walderan Tarbeck was 55 years old in 239 AC.[74] As the source for Walderan’s concerns a historical work, rule #3 applies, placing Walderan's birth in 184 AC.
Wallace Waynwood
Birth
Wallace Waynwood is said to have been Robb Stark's age, had Robb still been alive in 300 AC.[76] Robb Stark was born in 283 AC (see Robb Stark).
Wallace's older brother Donnel was born in 277 AC or 278 AC (see Donnel Waynwood). That means that Wallace's first possible year of birth is 278 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Wallace thus was born in or between 278 AC and 283 AC.
Walton Frey
Birth
Walton Frey is Stevron Frey's only child by his third wife, Marsella Waynwood, whereas his older sister Maegelle is Stevron Frey's youngest child by his second wife, Jeyne Lydden.[23] As they have different mothers, it is possible for Walton and Maegelle to have been born in the same year. Maegelle was born in roughly 250 AC the earliest (see Maegelle Frey), meaning that Walton Frey's first possible year of birth is also roughly 250 AC.
Walton would have been at least twelve years old when his eldest child was born, and thus at least thirteen when his second child was born. Walton's second child, Walda, was born in either 280 AC or 281 AC (see Walda Frey (daughter of Walton)). Walton would have been at least thirteen at her birth, meaning that the youngest he could have been, was thirteen in 281 AC, which would place his birth in 268 AC the latest.
No further specifications can be given. Walton Frey was thus born in or between ~250 AC and 268 AC.
Waltyr Frey
Birth
Waltyr Frey was ten years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC.[23][25] Being ten years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means that Waltyr was 9 turning 10 in 299 AC, and 10 turning 11 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 289 AC.
Waymar Royce
Birth
Waymar Royce is eighteen years old in 297 AC. Being 18 in 297 AC gives his two options:
- Being 17 turning 18 in 297 AC, placing his birth in 279 AC
- Being 18 turning 19 in 297 AC, placing his birth in 278 AC
No further specifications can be given. Waymar was thus born in either 278 AC or 279 AC.
Death
During the Tourney of the Hand in 298 AC, Sansa Stark mentions that she met Ser Raymar Royce and his father when they visited Winterfell, on their way to the Wall. The timeframe Sansa mentions was two years ago.[97] During the prologue of A Game of Thrones, Ser Waymar has been on the Wall for almost half a year.[160] The time in between Sansa remembering having met the Royces (during the Tourney of the Hand), and one of Ser Warmar's fellow rangers getting decapitated (during A Game of Thrones, Bran I), seems to have been at least seven months, since King Robert visited Winterfell for at least one month, and the journey from Winterfell to King's Landing, and thus also from King's Landing to Winterfell, took about 2 months each. Robert cannot have left for Winterfell until two weeks after Joffrey's 12th nameday (since he didn't leave until Jon Arryn had died, and Jon Arryn died a fortnight after Joffrey's nameday), which is known to have taken place in 298 AC (see the Joffrey Baratheon calculation), although most likely more time passed in between Jon Arryn's death and Robert leaving for Winterfell, seeing as how Cersei and her children were not in King's Landing when Jon Arryn died (they were making a tour to Casterly Rock), but they were present in the royal party. Naturally, some weeks passed in between arriving at King's Landing and the Tourney of the Hand, which are guessed at the lower bar of one month.
Thus Sansa Stark remembers a while into the second half of 298 AC that she met the Royces 2 years prior, placing their visit to Winterfell into the second half of 296 AC. With Waymar dying after spending half a year on the Wall, Waymar's death thus occured in 297 AC.
Weasel
Birth
Weasel was found in the Riverlands in 299 AC. She was no older than two.[161] Weasel being two in 299 AC gives her the following options:
- 1 turning 2 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 297 AC
- 2 turning 3 in 299 AC, placing her birth in 296 AC
No further specifications can be given. Weasel was thus born in either 296 AC or 297 AC.
Wendel Frey
Birth
Wendel Frey was thirteen years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC.[23][25] Being thirteen years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means that Wendel was 12 turning 13 in 299 AC, and 13 turning 14 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 286 AC.
Wendel Manderly
Birth
Wendel Manderly is the second born son of Wyman Manderly. He is at least one year older than Catelyn Tully,[162] who was born no later than 265 AC (see Catelyn Tully). This would place his birth in 264 AC at the latest.
Wendel's father Wyman was born in 239 AC the earliest. Since Wyman would have been at least 12 years old at the birth of his eldest son, he would have been at least 13 years old at the birth of his youngest son. This would place Wendel's birth no earlier than 252 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Wendel was thus born in or between 252 AC and 264 AC.
Wex Pyke
Birth
Wex Pyke was twelve years old in 299 AC.[163] This leaves the following options for Wex:
- 11 turning 12 in 299 AC, and thus 12 turning 13 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 287 AC
- 12 turning 13 in 299 AC, and thus 13 turning 14 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 286 AC
In 300 AC, Davos meets Wex. He guesses Wex to be fourteen or fifteen years old.[132] As the two options above show, Wex would be either thirteen or fourteen in 300 AC. Comparing that to Davos's estimations, Wex seems to have been fourteen years old in 300 AC, eliminating the first option, and placing Wex’s birth in 286 AC.
Whalen Frey
Birth
Whalen Frey is younger than Jammos Frey by at least one year. Jammos was born no earlier than 266 AC (see Jammos Frey), meaning that one year later, 267 AC, is the first possible birth year of for Whalen.
Whalen is older than his sister Morya Frey by at least one year. The last possible year of birth of Morya is 269 AC (see Morya Frey), making Whalens last possible year of birth one year before, in 268 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Whalen was thus born in either 267 AC or 268 AC.
Willam the Wasp
Birth
Willam the Wasp was one of five champions to earn their slot in the Kingsguard in 49 AC.[9] Jaime Lannister was the youngest knight to be named to the Kingsguard at the age of fifteen in 281 AC.[18][19] As such, all other Kingsguard knights who were appointed before Jaime would have been at least sixteen years of age at their appointment, indicating Willam had been at least sixteen years old in 49 AC, placing his birth no later than 33 AC.
Samgood of Sour Hill was born in 14 BC and was the oldest of the five champions,[9] meaning that Willam can not have been born earlier than 13 BC.
No further specifications can be given. Willam was thus born in or between 13 BC and 33 AC.
Willam Stark
Birth
Willam Stark's eldest child, Brandon Stark,[14] was born no later than 223 AC (see Brandon Stark (son of Willam)). Willam would have been at least 12 years old at the birth, so he was born no later than 211 AC.
Willam's older sibling, Donnor Stark,[14] was born no earlier than 184 AC (see Donnor Stark). Willam would have been born at least a year later, therefore he was born no earlier than 185 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Willam was thus born in or between 185 AC and 211 AC.
Willamen Frey
Birth
Willamen Frey is an older brother of Olyvar and Roslin, and a younger brother of Perwyn and Benfrey.[23] This means that Willamen was born at least one year before Olyvar, who was born in 281 AC (see Olyvar Frey), meaning that Willamen was born no later than 280 AC.
Benfrey is Willamen's next oldest sibling and therefore born at least one year before him. Benfrey was born no earlier than 271 AC (see Benfrey Frey), meaning that Willamen was born no earlier than 272 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Willamen was thus born in or between 272 AC and 280 AC.
Willas Tyrell
Birth
Willas Tyrell is the eldest son of Mace Tyrell and Alerie Hightower. With Mace Tyrell being born no earlier than 256 AC (see Mace Tyrell), and second son Garlan being born to Mace in 277 AC (see Garlan Tyrell), Willas would have been born in between 268 AC (the first possible year of Mace turning twelve years old) and 276 AC (at least one year before Garlan).
Willas is said to be twice the age of Sansa Stark.[164] Sansa, at that moment, is twelve. Since Garlan was twenty-two years old at that time, Willas would have been twenty-three years old (one year older than Garlan) or older. Being exactly twice Sansa's age would make him twenty-four years old, and keeping in mind that Sansa turns thirteen in roughly “a moons turn”,[99] he could have been as old as twenty-six as well. Willas is considered a bit too old for Sansa by his grandmother, suggesting the age difference is reaching its limit. This means that Willas could not have been born any earlier than 273 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Willas was thus born in or between 273 AC and 276 AC.
Willem Darry
Death
Willem Darry fell sick when Daenerys Targaryen was five years old.[165] Daenerys was born in 284 AC (see Daenerys Targaryen), which means that Willem fell sick in either 289 AC or 290 AC, as Daenerys would have been five years old in both years. It is unknown how long Willem was sick before he died, though it is stated that he died soon after.[165] Thus it can be stated that Willem died in 289 AC or 290 AC, roughly.
Willem Frey
Birth
Willem Frey has been mentioned to have been nine years old in 299 AC[23] and ten in 300 AC.[25] Being nine in 299 AC gives the following options:
- 8 turning 9, placing his birth in 290 AC
- 9 turning 10, placing his birth in 289 AC
Being ten in 300 AC gives the following options:
- 9 turning 10, placing his birth in 290 AC
- 10 turning 11, placing his birth in 289 AC
No further specifications can be given. Willem was thus born in either 289 AC or 290 AC.
Willem Lannister
Birth
Willem Lannister was judged to have been 12 or 13 years old in 299 AC by Robb Stark.[134] That gives Willem the following options:
- 11 turning 12 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 287 AC
- 12 turning 13 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 286 AC
- 13 turning 14 in 299 AC, placing his birth in 285 AC
No further specifications can be given. Willem was thus born in or between 285 AC and 287 AC.
Willow (daughter of Aegon IV)
Birth
Willow's mother, Megette, was the mistress of King Aegon IV from 155 AC until 158 AC. Willow is listed as the third of four children.[87] This would place Willow's birth in 157 AC.
Willow Heddle
Birth
Willow Heddle is ten years old in 300 AC.[33] That gives her the following options:
- 9 turning 10 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 290 AC
- 10 turning 11 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 289 AC
No further specifications can be given. Willow was thus born in either 289 AC or 290 AC.
Wylis Manderly
Birth
Wylis Manderly is the eldest son of Wyman Manderly, and older than Catelyn Tully, as is his younger brother Wendel.[162] That both brothers are older than Catelyn, means that the youngest could have been born one year before Catelyn, the latest. Since Wylis is older than his brother, that would place his birth no later than two years before Catelyn, who was born in 264 AC or 265 AC (see Catelyn Tully). With 265 AC as Catelyn's youngest option, this means that Wylis was born in 263 AC the latest.
Since Wylis's father Wyman was born in 239 AC the earliest, and would have been at least 12 years old at Wylis's birth, Wylis cannot have been born any earlier than 251 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Wylis was thus born in or between 251 AC and 263 AC.
Wylla Fenn
Birth
Wylla Fenn's child, Lonnel Snow,[14] was born no later than 195 AC (see Lonnel Snow). Wylla would have been at least 12 years old at the birth, so she was born no later than 183 AC.
Following rule #5, Wylla was no older than ~52 years old at the birth of her child, Lonnel, who was born no earlier than 152 AC (see Lonnel Snow). Therefore Wylla would have been born no earlier than ~100 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Wylla was thus born in or between ~100 AC and 183 AC.
Death
Wylla cannot have died before her child, Lonnel Snow,[14] was born. Lonnel was born no earlier than 152 AC (see Lonnel Snow), so Wylla died no earlier than 152 AC.
Wylla Manderly
Birth
Wylla Manderly looked to be no older than fifteen to Davos Seaworth in 300 AC.[37] In 300 AC, Wylla was indeed fifteen years old.[25] That gives her the following options:
- 14 turning 15 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 285 AC
- 15 turning 16 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 284 AC
No further specifications can be given. Wylla was thus born in either 284 AC or 285 AC.
Wyman Manderly
Birth
Wyman Manderly was near sixty in 298 AC.[162] This means that in 298 AC, Wyman was fifty-nine years old at the latest. This would place his birth no earlier than 239 AC.
Wyman's eldest son, Wylis, was born no later than 263 AC (see Wylis Manderly). Wyman would have been at least twelve years old when Wylis was born, meaning that Wyman would have been at least twelve years old in 263 AC, placing his birth no later than 251 AC.
However, "near sixty" suggests that Wyman is closer to sixty than to fifty, showing that he is at least fifty-six. Being 55 turning 56 in 298 AC at his youngest, would place Wyman's birth in 242 AC. Thus Wyman was born no later than 242 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Wyman was thus born in or between 239 AC and 242 AC.
Wyman Webber
Death
The second anniversary of Lord Wyman Webber's death is less than a month away in The Sworn Sword.[75] Since The Sworn Sword takes place in the middle of the year 211 AC (see The Sworn Sword), it can be surmised that the second anniversary of Wyman's death occurs in 211 AC, meaning that his death occurred in 209 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Wyman thus died in 209 AC.
Wynafryd Manderly
Birth
Wynafryd Manderly is nineteen years old in 300 AC.[25] That gives her the following options:
- 18 turning 19 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 281 AC
- 19 turning 20 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 280 AC
No further specifications can be given. Wynafryd was thus born in either 280 AC or 281 AC.
Wynton Stout
Birth
Wynton Stout has been a ranger of the Night's Watch for 80 years in 299 AC.[166] It is unknown how old he was when he became a ranger, meaning that the most specific year that can be given for his birth, is “before 219 AC”.

Yandel
Birth
Yandel was born in the 10th year of the reign of King Aerys II Targaryen.[167] As King Aerys ascended the throne in 262 AC,[62][39], this would place Yandels birth in the year 272 AC.
Ygritte
Birth
Ygritte claims to be three years older than Jon Snow.[168][169] Jon Snow was born in 283 AC (see Jon Snow), placing Ygritte's birth in 280 AC.
Ynys Yronwood
Birth
Ynys Yronwood was the mother of two sons the last time Quentyn Martell saw her.[170] Since Quentyn left Dorne in either late 299 AC or early 300 AC,[146] technically Quentyn could have seen Ynys for the last time in early 300 AC. Ynys's second son was thus born at the latest in 300 AC. Since there is at least one year in between the births of Ynys's sons and she would have been at least twelve at the moment of her first son's birth, this means Ynys could not have been born any later than 287 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Ynys was thus born in or before 287 AC.
Yorbert Royce
Death
Yorbert Royce was present at the Great Council of 101 AC at Harrenhal.[93] By the time of King Viserys I Targaryen's coronotion in 103 AC, Yorbert's heir, Rhea Royce, had become the Lady of Runestone,[129] implying Yobert had died prior to Viserys's coronation.
No further specifications can be given. Yorbert thus died in either 101 AC, 102 AC or 103 AC.
Ysabel Staunton
Birth
Ysabel Staunton was one of the maiden presented to King Aegon III Targaryen during the Maiden's Day Ball in 133 AC.[3] As the maiden had to be under the age of thirty,[3] this means she couldn't be born any earlier than 103 AC.
No further specifications can be given. Ysabel was thus born in or between 103 AC and 133 AC.
Note: A rumor was spread before the Maiden's Day Ball that Ysabel was fond of wine. In order for the rumor to be believable, Ysabel would be born well before 133 AC.

Zachery Frey
Birth
Zachery Frey has been mentioned to have been twelve years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being twelve years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means he was 11 turning 12 in 299 AC, and 12 turning 13 in 300 AC, placing his birth in 287 AC.
Zia Frey
Birth
Zia Frey has been mentioned to have been fourteen years old in 299 AC[23] and in 300 AC.[25] Being fourteen years old in both 299 AC and 300 AC means she was 13 turning 14 in 299 AC, and 14 turning 15 in 300 AC, placing her birth in 285 AC.
