Anders Yronwood is the Lord of Yronwood and head of House Yronwood. He also holds the titles the Bloodroyal and Warden of the Stone Way.[2] He has a son, Cletus and two daughters, Ynys, and Gwyneth. Prince Quentyn Martell had previously been his ward.[1][4]
Character
Lord Franklyn Fowler has never gotten along with Anders.[4]
Quentyn Martell considers Anders to be a second father.[5] Doran Martell, Quentyn's father, believes that Anders has been more a father to Quentyn than Doran has been.[4] According to Arianne Martell, Quentyn's elder sister, Anders does not believe that women should rule over men.[1]
History
Prince Quentyn Martell was fostered with Lord Yronwood and served as first his page and then his squire. Quentyn chose to be knighted by Anders instead of by his uncle, Prince Oberyn Martell.[4]
Recent Events
A Feast for Crows
Trying to gain Ser Arys Oakheart of the Kingsguard for her plot to crown Myrcella Baratheon, Princess Arianne Martell tells Arys that Lord Yronwood is himself plotting to have her brother, Prince Quentyn Martell, succeed their father, Doran Martell, as Prince of Dorne.[1]
Imprisoned at Sunspear, Arianne rules out contacting Lord Anders, considering him to be loyal to Doran after taking Quentyn as his ward.[4]
Lord Yronwood hosts Ser Balon Swann of the Kingsguard for a fortnight during his journey from King's Landing to Sunspear with the Mountain's skull.[4] Anders sends a host to the Boneway.[4]
Anders sends his own son and heir, Ser Cletus Yronwood, and three of his best knights to accompany Quentyn on a dangerous mission.[4]
A Dance with Dragons
Cletus is killed by pirates during Quentyn's journey to Daenerys Targaryen, Queen of Meereen.[6]
