A tutor is a person who provides private assistance or tutelage to one or more people on certain subject areas or skills.

Culture

Captives taken by Ironborn during their raids become thralls bound to their captors in service, with those who could read, write, and do sums serving their masters as tutors, stewards, and scribes.[1]

The Good Masters of Astapor are rivals of one another when dealing in tutors, scribes, bed slaves, fieldhands, and craftsmen.[2]

History

Oswyck was the tutor of the royal children in the Faith of the Seven during the reign of Aenys I Targaryen.[3]

Septas Edyth and Lyra were beloved religious tutors of Queen Alysanne Targaryen.[4]

Septa Amarys and septon Eustace were religious tutors of Baela Targaryen, but neither of them could curb her wild ways.[5]

After capturing Prince Viserys Targaryen, magister Bambarro Bazanne forbade him from leaving his manse, though he gave the prince his own suite and had a tutor instruct him in many skills.[6]

According to Roose Bolton, Reek never had any training in arms, though he was Ramsay's tutor in martial prowess, which explains Ramsay Snow's vicious and overly aggressive style of swordsmanship.[7]
