Daenora Targaryen was the younger daughter of Prince Rhaegel Targaryen and Lady Alys Arryn. She had an older brother and sister, the twins Aelor and Aelora. Daenora was married to her cousin, Prince Aerion.[2]
History
Although Daenora's older sister Aelora Targaryen was Princess of Dragonstone and heir to the Iron Throne until her death, Daenora was passed over for unknown reasons and her uncle, Prince Maekar Targaryen, was the next heir instead.[3] Daenora married her cousin, Prince Aerion Targaryen, at an unknown point in time. Together, they had one son, Prince Maegor, who was born in 232 AC, and whose claim to the throne was disputed and ultimately disregarded by the Great Council of 233 AC.[2][4]

Behind the scenes
According to Elio Garcia, when asked why Daenora was omitted from the list of Aerys I Targaryen's heirs during the writing of The World of Ice & Fire, despite her elder sister having been heir for a time, George R. R. Martin insisted the text remain as written but would not elaborate on why, possibly indicating a reason for Daenora not being considered that Martin did not yet wish to reveal.[3]
