Lord Ashford's daughter, called the fair maid, was a lady from House Ashford and the daughter of Lord Ashford.[1] Her given name is unknown. In the television adaptation A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, she is named Gwin Ashford and is portrayed by Cara Harris.
Appearance and Character
Lord Ashford's daughter was a short girl with yellow hair and a round pink face.[1]
History
In 209 AC, Lord Ashford hosted the tourney at Ashford Meadow to celebrate his daughter's thirteenth name day. Five champions wore a wisp of orange silk as her favor and defended her position as the reigning Queen of Love and Beauty; these included her brothers Ser Androw and Ser Robert Ashford, Lord Leo Tyrell, Ser Humfrey Hardyng, and Prince Valarr Targaryen.[1]
Lord Ashford and his daughter watched the tourney from a viewing stand alongside princes of House Targaryen. During the trial of seven, mud landed on Lord Ashford and the fair maid when Ser Duncan the Tall shook the defeated Prince Aerion Targaryen before the viewing stand.[1]

She does not seem so fair to me, Dunk thought. The puppet girl was prettier.[1]

Theories
The five champions who defended her honor in the tourney (Lyonel Baratheon, Leo Tyrell, Tybolt Lannister, Humfrey Hardyng, and Prince Valarr Targaryen),[1] perfectly matches Sansa Stark's story throughout the A Song of Ice and Fire series, who has been promised to marry/married to characters who share the same family names as Lady Ashford's champions from the tourney. Sansa was betrothed to Joffrey Baratheon,[2] promised to marry Willas Tyrell,[3] and married to Tyrion Lannister.[4] She is promised to marry Harry Hardyng.[5] Following this pattern, Sansa will be either betrothed or married to a member of House Targaryen. Some readers have taken this as a hint by the author regarding Sansa's next betrothal or marriage.
