Lord Walder's bastards[1] are the bastard sons and daughters of Walder Frey, the Lord of the Crossing and head of House Frey.
Walder has become famous for siring many children, having over a hundred descendants, base and trueborn. Walder has had twenty-nine trueborn children from his marriages, with an unknown number of bastard sons and daughters.[2]
History
The eldest, Ser Walder Rivers, is known as Bastard Walder, although he is resentful of his bastard status.[3] Though not a trueborn Frey, Bastard Walder is often put in positions of responsibility due to his strong reputation as a warrior.[4] He has a personal blazon, which combines a variant of the Frey sigil in reversed colors,[5] a popular form of heraldry among bastards.[6]
Bastard Walder's mother died after falling from a horse,[7] while Ryger Rivers's mother was a peasant who milked goats before she got pregnant.[2]
Lord Walder went on to have a further five known bastards named Rivers: Melwys, Martyn, Ronel, Jeyne, and Mellara.[8]

Quotes
Now my bastards presume to teach me courtesy. I'll speak any way I like, damn you. I've had three kings to guest in my life, and queens as well, do you think I require lessons from the likes of you, Ryger? Your mother was milking goats the first time I gave her my seed.[2]
—Walder Frey to Ryger Rivers
That one is more dangerous than any of his trueborn brothers.[14]
