Marselen is a Naathi member of the Unsullied. His living siblings include Mossador and Missandei.
History
Missandei and her three brothers, including Marselen and Mossador, were captured on their native island of Naath by raiders from the Basilisk Isles, and sold into slavery in Astapor. Missandei was trained as a scribe, but Marselen and his two brothers were gelded and trained by the Good Masters to be Unsullied.[2] Marselen and Mossador became Unsullied,[3] and the third brother died at some point.[4]
Recent Events
A Storm of Swords
Daenerys Targaryen purchases Unsullied from the Good Masters of Astapor. After freeing the soldiers, she turns them against the slavers with the fall of Astapor.[2] Daenerys also takes into her service Missandei, Marselen's sister, as a scribe and handmaid.[2] Marselen, Mossador, and Missandei continue to accompany Daenerys through her conquest of Yunkai[5] and the siege and fall of Meereen.[6][7]
A Dance with Dragons
After Daenerys told the Unsullied to abolish the practice of choosing a new name every day,[8] Marselen chooses to go back to his birth name.
Mossador, a brother of Marselen and Missandei, is killed in Meereen by the Sons of the Harpy.[3] Marselen is now Missandei's only living brother.[4]
When three free companies are formed of freedmen, Marselen helps train the Mother's Men and is named their captain.[4] He represents the Mother's Men when Daenerys holds a council.[4]
Marselen accompanies Daenerys when she meets Astapori refugees outside of Meereen.[9]
After Daenerys disappears from Daznak's Pit, Marselen shares Ser Barristan Selmy's caution about warring against Yunkai.[10] He attends Barristan's council.[11]
The Winds of Winter

During the Second Siege of Meereen, Marselen masses the Mother's Men by the Yellow Gate.[12] In the battle, the Mother's Men break the Long Lances, and destroy the trebuchet called the Ghost of Astapor, dragging it over with chains.[13]
