The Serrett serjeant is a guard from House Serrett who serves as an officer in the host of Lord Randyll Tarly during the War of the Five Kings.[1] His given name is unknown.
Appearance
[edit]The serjeant has a peacock, the sigil of House Serrett, on his sun-faded clothing. He is armed with a halberd.[1]

[edit]Lord Randyll Tarly, commanding a varied host loyal to King Tommen I Baratheon, occupies Maidenpool. The serjeant from House Serrett is stationed at a gate commanded by Ser Hyle Hunt; other guards include men from Houses Bettley, Caswell, House Leygood, and Sarsfield.[1]
Brienne of Tarth and Podrick Payne join an old farmer and his younger wife on the Duskendale road as the farmers bring eggs to Maidenpool for the upcoming wedding of Dickon Tarly and Eleanor Mooton. When the group reaches the gatehouse, they find it guarded by a dozen men led by the serjeant. The serjeant decides to take the eggs from the farmer, flinging a handful of pennies on the ground. When the farmer's wife objects, the serjeant orders his men to bring the young woman to him. Brienne rides forward to protect her from rape, leading the serjeant to crush an egg in his hand and have his guards surround the Maid of Tarth. Ser Hyle emerges from the gatehouse, however, and calms the situation. When the serjeant asks if they should seize Brienne for having allegedly killed Renly Baratheon, Hyle points out that Renly had been a rebel and they all had been rebels once as well for having followed Renly.[1]
