Vair is squirrel fur sewn together in a grey-and-white pattern, which also is used as a tincture in heraldry.

According to a semi-canon sources, the arms of House Buckwell is a rack of golden antlers on vair,[1] and the arms of House Harte is three red hart's heads caboshed on a white bend on vair.[2]
Brandon Stark owns grey breeches and a white doublet, the sleeves and collar of which are trimmed with vair.[3][4] Rhaegar Frey has a cloak trimmed with cloth-of-silver and lined with vair.[5]
