Rabbits are mammals similar to the real-life animal. They are related to hares.

During the Moon of the Three Kings, Trystane Truefyre granted the poor the right to take rabbits, hares, and deer from the kingswood.[3]

Arya Stark, disguised as "Arry" while part of Yoren's band of recruits for the Night's Watch, kills a rabbit as they travel north from King's Landing. Yoren stews the rabbit and gives a leg to Arya, who shares it with Gendry. Rorge calls mocks her as "Lumpyface Lumpyhead Rabbitkiller".[5]

Benfred Tallhart raises a company of young lancers during the War of the Five Kings. After Leobald Tallhart calls them young rabbits, they dub themselves the Wild Hares and tie rabbitskins to the ends of their lances.[6]
