Honey is a substance created by bees. It can be used as a sweetener in foods and beverages.

Food and Drink
Honey has been used as a sweetener for chicken,[1] duck,[2] capon,[3] partridge,[4] quail,[5] deer,[6] lamb,[7] ham,[8] porridge,[9] mice,[10] dormice,[11] dog,[12] snails,[13] peaches,[14] carrots,[15] bread,[16] cakes,[17] and biscuits.[18][19] Dothraki roast horseflesh with honey and peppers.[2] Honey can be used to baste goats[20] and rabbits.[21]
Mead is made from fermented honey. Wine can be sweetened with honey and flavored with spices.[22][2][23] Fermented goat's milk served in an iron cup and laced with honey is popular in Norvos.[24] Lemon juice[25] and iced milk[26] can be sweetened with honey.
Honeycombs can be served as food.[27][28][29] Honeyfingers are a cake baked in Tyrosh.[30]
Honey can be used for medicinal purposes, such as in honeywater,[31] potions,[32] and dreamwine.[33] A spoonful of honey can be included in tansy tea.[34]
Culture
Honeyholt is the seat of House Beesbury in the Reach,[35] and the Honeywine is a prominent river in the province.[36] Honeytree is disputed by Houses Blackwood and Bracken.[37]
In the song "The Bear and the Maiden Fair", a bear licks honey from the hair of a girl.[38]
History
Ellyn Ever Sweet, the legendary founder of House Beesbury, is said to have loved honey so much she sought out the King of the Bees in his vast mountain hive and made a pact to care for his kin for all time, becoming the first beekeeper.[39]

Kraznys mo Nakloz tells Daenerys Targaryen and Missandei that a slave boy at Douquor's Pit in Astapor will be rolled in honey to tempt a bear.[42]
Samwell Tarly recalls enjoying a dollop of honey and a spoonful of butter in the thick cream of wheat served by Three-Finger Hobb at Castle Black.[43]
Qyburn gives Ser Jaime Lannister, who has had his sword hand cut off, licorice steeped in vinegar with honey and cloves as part of his recovery.[44]
A Feast for Crows
Brienne of Tarth recalls that Ser Hugh Beesbury had given her a pot of honey in an attempt to woo her at Highgarden.[45] While staying at the Quiet Isle, Brienne and her companions are served honey from the septry's hives.[46]
A Dance with Dragons
During the celebrations for her marriage to Hizdahr zo Loraq at Daznak's Pit in Meereen, Daenerys is served honeyed locusts, which she refuses despite Hizdahr urging her to taste them. Her Queensguard, Strong Belwas, gorges on them, only to retch them minutes later.[47] The locusts turn out to have been poisoned.[48]
