Stoats are small carnivorous mammals found in the known world. The fur from its winter coat is referred to as ermine. The stoat is related to the weasel.
Culture
Members of House Frey are often compared to stoats on account of their facial features.[1][2]
Ermine fur is often included in luxurious garments.[3] Ermine spots can be a heraldic tincture; ermine is depicted in the arms of Houses Florent, Gower, Prester, Rosby, Ruthermont, and Varner, as well as the arms of Ser Illifer the Penniless.[4]
