Lampreys are jawless fish which can be confused with eels.[1]

Lampreys have been found in the narrow sea,[1] near White Harbor,[2] in the lagoon of Braavos,[3] and in the Shivering Sea.[4]
Culture
White Harbor has an inn famous for its lamprey pies.[2] According to Mors Umber, Lord Wyman Manderly is mocked by some of his own people as Lord Lamprey.[5]
History
According to Septon Eustace, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen grew stout from eating sweetmeats, cakes, and lamprey pie while ruling King's Landing during the Dance of the Dragons.[6]

Lady Tanda Stokeworth serves lamprey pie and roast suckling pig to Lord Petyr Baelish.[1]
A Clash of Kings
Tanda repeatedly offers lamprey pie to Tyrion Lannister.[8] A begging brother in King's Landing preaches against Tyrion, claiming the Hand of the King has grown fat on lark and lamprey while the smallfolk starve.[9] Lamprey pie is one of the courses in a supper enjoyed by Tyrion and his sister, Queen Regent Cersei Lannister.[10]
Lampreys are included in the seafood brought by Lord Wyman Manderly to Winterfell for the harvest feast.[11]
A Storm of Swords
After he is rescued from Blackwater Bay, Ser Davos Seaworth's stomach cannot tolerate the rich lampreys and snails provided by Khorane Sathmantes.[12] While imprisoned in Dragonstone's dungeon, Davos is served half a lamprey pie by one of his unnamed gaolers, whom he names Lamprey.[13]
A Feast for Crows
Disguised in Braavos, Arya Stark helps Umma prepare lampreys taken from the city's lagoon. Some nights Umma cooks the eels with chopped garlic.[3]
A Dance with Dragons
Lamprey pie is served at the feast welcoming Ser Wylis Manderly back to White Harbor.[14] Lord Wyman brings barrels of fresh-caught lampreys with him to Barrowton in preparation for the wedding of Ramsay Bolton and Arya Stark.[15]
Lamprey pies are served at the feast welcoming Ser Balon Swann to Sunspear.[16]
