Pentoshi language

Pentoshi is a language spoken in the Free City of Pentos. Like the languages of all Free Cities, the tongue of Pentos is a form of bastard Valyrian.^[1]^[2]^[3]

The bastard Valyrian of Groleo is heavily flavored with accents of Pentos.^[4]

A Dance with Dragons

Maester Kedry is fluent in the tongues of all of the Free Cities.^[5]

Young Griff is fluent in High Valyrian, the dialects of Pentos, Tyrosh, Myr, and Lys, and the trade talk of sailors.^[6]

The kindly man insists that Arya Stark learn the tongues of Lys and Pentos.^[7]
