Myros[N 1] was a maester of the Citadel who served as Grand Maester during the reign of King Maegor I Targaryen.

History

After returning to King's Landing following his victory at the Battle at the Great Fork, King Maegor I Targaryen declared his intent to take Tyanna of the Tower as his third wife. Myros dared to speak against the marriage openly, stating that Maegor's true wife, Ceryse Hightower, awaited at Oldtown. Maegor heard him out in silence before drawing Blackfyre and killing Myros where he stood.[1]

Myros was one of three Grand Maesters were executed during Maegor's reign,[2] the others being Gawen and Desmond.[3]

Notes

  1. The Sons of the Dragon named him Myres. In Fire & Blood, he is renamed to Myros.
