|Died||In 97 AC|
Elysar was a maester of the Citadel who served as Grand Maester during the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen.
Elysar was sharp tongued, and never had a thought he didn't share.
After the death of Grand Maester Benifer in 60 AC, Elysar was appointed as the new Grand Maester. Elysar was twenty years younger than Benifer had been when he first took the office. He was known to be very opinionated, with some suspecting the Citadel named him to the office to be rid of him from Oldtown.
Elysar and Septon Barth were present when King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne Targaryen confronted their daughter, Princess Saera, about her indiscretions. Elysar passed away in 97 AC and was succeeded by Allar.
