The Battle of the Blackwater was Stannis Baratheon’s assault on King’s Landing during the War of the Five Kings. Tyrion Lannister helped coordinate the city’s defense with a chain across the river and stores of wildfire, while Stannis brought a large fleet and army against the capital. The battle tested the city’s defenses and changed the balance of power around Joffrey’s throne.
