The Hook is a narrow, curved street in King's Landing which begins at the Muddy Way near Fishmonger's Square and climbs part of Aegon's High Hill. It connects with another prominent street (presumably the King's Way) which continues on to the Red Keep atop the hill.

History

Violent riots occurred in King's Landing during the Dance of the Dragons. Ser Torrhen Manderly led a sortie from the Red Keep down the Hook with his northmen to try to stop the rioters. When they arrived at the Fishmonger's Square and the River Row, the region was swarming with Ser Perkin the Flea's gutter knights. Torrhen lost a quarter of his men fighting his way back to the Red Keep.

A Clash of Kings

King Joffrey I Baratheon's party returns to the Red Keep after saying goodbye to Princess Myrcella Baratheon at the docks. While they are riding up the Hook, a woman walks out of the crowd of smallfolk with a dead baby and blocks the way. Riots in King's Landing ensue after an altercation between the royal party and the crowd.

A Storm of Swords

Tyrion Lannister passes by the Hook while traveling to meet Symon Silver Tongue at a winesink near Visenya's Hill.
