The wedding of Walder Frey and Joyeuse Erenford occurs in 298 AC. Walder Frey, Lord of the Crossing, marries his eighth bride, Joyeuse Erenford, at the Twins.
Prelude
Walder Frey, seven times a widower and the head of House Frey, agrees to marry one of his vassals, Joyeuse Erenford. Walder hopes that Hoster Tully, his liege lord, will attend the festivities,[1] as the Lord Paramount of the Trident did not attend when Walder married his seventh wife, Annara Farring.[2]
Wedding

Lord Walder marries the sixteen-year-old Joyeuse[2] on his ninetieth name day.[1] The ailing Hoster remains at Riverrun and does not attend the celebration.[2]
Aftermath
Catelyn Stark negotiates with Lord Walder at the Twins as an envoy of her son, Robb Stark, as the War of the Five Kings begins. Lord Frey informs Catelyn he was insulted by her father, Lord Tully, not attending his wedding.[2]
Quotes
Catelyn: I know your sigil as well: the twin towers of Frey. How fares your good lord, sers?
Captain: Lord Walder is well, my lady. He plans to take a new wife on his ninetieth name day, and has asked your lord father to honor the wedding with his presence.[1]—Catelyn Stark and a captain
Walder: Save your sweet words, my lady. Sweet words I get from my wife. Did you see her? Sixteen she is, a little flower, and her honey's only for me. I wager she gives me a son by this time next year. Perhaps I'll make him heir, wouldn't that boil the rest of them?
Catelyn: I'm certain she will give you many sons.
Walder: Your lord father did not come to the wedding. An insult, as I see it. Even if he is dying.[2]
