A towerhouse or tower house is a type of fortified tower which is also used as a dwelling, often by minor lords or lordlings.[1] Towerhouses are smaller than castles,[2] and some have been considered holdfasts.[3]

[edit]Ser Barristan Selmy rejected the small council's offer of resigning from the Kingsguard and retiring to a towerhouse near Lannisport.[7][8]
Yoren's party finds a lord's towerhouse at an abandoned town along the Gods Eye.[1] Cutjack, Kurz, and Tarber are able to survive the fight at the holdfast by taking refuge in the towerhouse.[9]
