The city watch[1] or city guard[2] protect the Free City of Qohor.[2]
History
When the khalasar of Khal Temmo threatened Qohor four centuries ago, the Free City doubled their guard and hired two companies of sellswords, the Bright Banners and the Second Sons. Temmo's Dothraki defeated the Qohorik heavy horse, and the mercenary companies fled the battlefield. A Qohorik was able to hire three thousand Unsullied, however, and the Dothraki were unable to defeat the eunuch soldiers after they arrived. According to Ser Jorah Mormont, the city's guard has consisted exclusively of Unsullied since the famed Three Thousand of Qohor. Since the Dothraki had cut off their braids in defeat and threw them before their victors, each guardsman for Qohor honors the Three Thousand by hanging a braid of human hair from his tall spear.[2] According to Maester Yandel, however, a small city watch supports Qohor's primary defense, the Unsullied slave soldiers.[1]
