"The Red Dragon and the Gold" is the fourth episode of season two of the HBO medieval fantasy television series House of the Dragon. Running 55 minutes long, it premiered on July 7, 2024. The episode was written by showrunner Ryan Condal and directed by director Alan Taylor. Music was composed by Ramin Djawadi.
The title of the episode takes its name from the 15th chapter of Fire & Blood ("The Dying of the Dragons - The Red Dragon and the Gold").
Official synopsis
In Rhaenyra’s absence and with no word from Daemon at Harrenhal, Rhaenys tries to keep the peace on the Black Council as Cole mounts a campaign into the Crownlands. In King’s Landing, Aemond continues to undermine Aegon’s fragile hold on authority.[1]
