House Moore is a noble house of the Vale of Arryn. According to semi-canon sources, they blazon their arms with three bronze spearheads on white, a bronze border embattled.[1]

History

Ser Maladon Moore served in the Kingsguard of King Maegor I Targaryen. Maladon was beheaded for his involvement in the death of Queen Ceryse Hightower.[2]

Lady Perianne Moore and Alys Turnberry were companions of Princess Saera Targaryen. When the young women became involved in scandal, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen arranged for Perianne to hastily wed Jonah Mooton.[3]

A Game of Thrones

Ser Mandon Moore is a member of the Kingsguard of King Robert I Baratheon.[4]

A Clash of Kings

Ser Mandon survives the riots in King's Landing after Princess Myrcella Baratheon's departure to Dorne.[5]

Mandon is assigned to guard King Joffrey I Baratheon and Tyrion Lannister in the Battle of the Blackwater.[6] Mandon attempts to kill Tyrion during the battle, but the knight is pushed into the Blackwater Rush by Tyrion's squire, Podrick Payne, and he drowns under the weight of his armor.[7]

A Storm of Swords

Tyrion learns that Lord Jon Arryn, the late Hand of the King, brought Mandon with him to King's Landing from the Vale.[8]

The House's name may be a homage by George R. R. Martin to science fiction and fantasy author C. L. Moore, whose works have been recommended by Martin.[10]
