House Lannister of Darry is a newly-created noble house from Castle Darry in the riverlands, and a branch of House Lannister of Casterly Rock. The House's sigil is the lion of Lannister, gold on red, quartered with the Darry plowman.[4]
Recent Events
A Clash of Kings
Ser Lancel Lannister is granted Castle Darry and its lands after the Battle of the Blackwater, as House Darry's child lord, Lyman Darry, died during the War of the Five Kings.[5]
A Feast for Crows
Lord Lancel is betrothed to Amerei Frey, daughter of Mariya Darry, per the alliance between House Lannister and House Frey. Mariya's younger sister, Jeyne Darry, is dismayed that the lordship was granted to Lancel rather than one of her own young sons. Despite the House's banners combining the sigils of Lannister and Darry, an idea of Ser Kevan Lannister, the House functions more as a branch of the Freys due to their numbers and Lancel's disinterest in his lordly duties.[4]
Ser Harwyn Plumm leads some men to root out outlaws on the Darry lands, to little effect.[4] Later Ser Lyle Crakehall, charmed by Amerei, leaves Riverrun to conclude the campaign.[6]
Lancel renounces both lordship and his unconsummated marriage to join the Warrior's Sons.[4]

- Ser Lancel Lannister, the new Lord of Darry, son of Ser Kevan Lannister. Forsook lands, title and wife to join the Warrior's Sons.

A more significant lordship by far was granted to Ser Lancel Lannister. Joffrey awarded him the lands, castle, and rights of House Darry, whose last child lord had perished during the fighting in the riverlands, "leaving no trueborn heirs of lawful Darry blood, but only a bastard cousin."[5]

Lancel had taken to quartering the lion of Lannister with the Darry plowman, it would seem. He saw his uncle's hand in that, as in Lancel's choice of bride. House Darry had ruled these lands since the Andals cast down the First Men. No doubt Ser Kevan realized that his son would have an easier time of it if the peasants saw him as a continuation of the old line, holding these lands by right of marriage rather than royal decree.[4]
