Alyn Stokeworth was the Lord of Stokeworth and the head of House Stokeworth during the reign of kings Aegon I and Aenys I Targaryen. He served as Hand of the King for both of them.[1]
History
Lord Alyn was named Hand of the King by Aegon I Targaryen after the death of Ser Osmund Strong, the previous Hand in 34 AC. When Aegon ordered the Aegonfort torn down and a stone castle to be built in its place in 35 AC, he assigned the task to Lord Alyn and Queen Visenya Targaryen.[1]
Lord Alyn brought his daughter Samantha to court, who became a close friend and companion of Princess Rhaena Targaryen.[1]
Upon the coronation of Aegon's heir, King Aenys I Targaryen, rebellions rose throughout the Seven Kingdoms. The first of these challenges was by a bandit outlaw known as Harren the Red, who claimed to be a grandson of King Harren the Black. Alyn personally led the campaign against Red Harren and successfully caught and cornered the outlaw king. Harren killed Alyn but was subsequently slain by Alyn's squire, Bernarr Brune.[2][1]
