[edit]In a secret passage near the cellar of the skulls of the Targaryen dragons, Arya Stark overhears a conversation between two unknown men — actually Varys and Illyrio Mopatis — in which Illyrio jokingly calls Varys a wizard. When she tries to tell her father, Eddard Stark, about the conversation, which also mentioned his potential death, she mentions the "monsters" and how one man called the other a wizard, and Eddard dismisses the story as mummery. Arya later asks Desmond, one of her father's household guards, if he could protect her father from a wizard, and Desmond replies that wizards die the same as other men.[1]
