Rimegate is a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It is located between Sable Hall to the west and the Long Barrow to the east.[1]
History
The Lord Commander of the Night's Watch tasked Ser Olyver Bracken and Ser Raymund Mallery with restoring the crumbling Rimegate and Sable Hall, respectively, but the two former Kingsguard rebelled from the Night's Watch in 50 AC with the intention to make the castles their seats as lords. Aided by Winterfell, loyal brothers of the Night's Watch recaptured Rimegate and hanged Olyver's rebels. Lord Walton Stark beheaded Olyver with Ice.[2]

Both men strongly reject his suggestions, with Marsh urging they be hanged for their deeds and Yarwyck claiming it was a lethal choice between "bad" and "worse."[3]
