Alys Rivers's son was a boy claimed by Alys Rivers to be her child by Prince Aemond Targaryen. His given name is unknown.
History
During the Dance of the Dragons, Prince Aemond Targaryen ordered the deaths of the remaining members of House Strong at Harrenhal. The dragonrider spared the life of Alys Rivers, however, and took the older wet nurse for his bedmate as a spoil of war.[1] Septon Eustace disagrees with Mushroom's claim that Alys used love potions and philtres to entice Aemond and Ser Criston Cole.[1]
While Criston marched south along the Gods Eye, Aemond began burning the riverlands with Vhagar. When Lady Sabitha Frey seized the undefended Harrenhal, she found only Alys within, with the wet nurse claiming to be pregnant with Aemond's child. Alys eventually escaped with Aemond when the prince returned to Harrenhal and chased away Sabitha.[1]
Later in the civil war, the pregnant Alys watched the Battle Above the Gods Eye atop Kingspyre Tower in Harrenhal below. Aemond and Prince Daemon Targaryen were both slain in their duel in 130 AC.[1]
In 132 AC during the regency of Aegon III, Alys gathered a number of broken men and outlaws to Harrenhal. Ser Tyland Lannister, Hand of the King, sent Ser Regis Groves of the Kingsguard and Ser Damon Darry with a hundred men to deal with the so-called "witch queen". Alys presented a boy to the knights, claiming that she was Aemond's widow and that the child was his trueborn son. Alys declared the boy was the rightful king and ordered Regis to submit to him. Refusing to kneel, Regis instead insulted Alys and her son. Regis abruptly died then under questionable circumstances, and Alys's followers forced Damon's host to retreat to Darry. When informed of Regis's death, the regents of King Aegon III Targaryen decided that a stronger force would be needed to deal with Alys's outlaws at Harrenhal. Their plans were interrupted by the outbreak of Winter Fever in 133 AC, however.[2]
