House Bulwer of Blackcrown is a noble house from the Reach, sworn to the Hightowers of Oldtown. Blackcrown is located on the northern coast of Whispering Sound.

According to semi-canon sources, the Bulwer arms depict a bull's skull, bone over blood.[2] Their words do not appear in the books, but according to semi-canon sources they are Death Before Disgrace.[3]

According to legend, House Bulwer descends from Bors the Breaker, a son of Garth Greenhand.[4]

According to semi-canon source, Ser Humphrey Bulwer attended the tourney at Ashford Meadow in 209 AC.[5]

Ser Buford Bulwer fought at the Battle of the Redgrass Field in 196 AC, where he slew forty men, or so he claimed. In 212 AC, he participated in the wedding tourney at Whitewalls where he was defeated by Ser Uthor Underleaf in five tilts.[6]

In more recent years, Lord Jon Bulwer, the father of Lady Alysanne Bulwer, died of a summer fever.[7][1]
