Sybelle Glover,[5] originally from House Locke,[1] is the wife of Robett Glover and the mother of Gawen and Erena Glover. In the absence of the brothers Galbart and Robett, Sybelle is the Lady of Deepwood Motte,[3] although it is the steward who truly rules at Deepwood.[2]

[edit]A Clash of Kings
[edit]When Galbart Glover, Master of Deepwood Motte, and his brother Robett travel south with Robb Stark during the War of the Five Kings, they leave Deepwood Motte in the hands of Robett's wife, Sybelle. However, it is her steward who truly rules the castle. He goes in her place with some Glover men to the harvest feast at Winterfell, as Sybelle does not want to subject her small children to the long journey nor leave them behind.[2]
Sybelle and her children are captured when Deepwood is taken by ironborn led by Asha Greyjoy.[7]
A Storm of Swords
[edit]Sybelle and her children, Gawen and the infant Erena, are kept captive at Deepwood Motte.[8][9]
A Feast for Crows
[edit]Asha brings Sybelle and her children to Ten Towers on Harlaw. Along the way, Sybelle's milk dries up, and they stop at the Stony Shore to search for a wet nurse for Erena; instead they find a goat. Asha has Sybelle and her children quartered in one of the castle's towers instead of a dungeon.[10]
A Dance with Dragons
[edit]Asha returns to Deepwood with Sybelle after the kingsmoot on Old Wyk, but the children remain as hostages at Ten Towers with the Harlaws. Sybelle spends her time in Deepwood's godswood, praying for the safe return of her children and her husband, as Robett is still making his way north after his own captivity. Asha allows Galbart Glover's maester to inform Sybelle about a letter sent from Barrowton by Ramsay Bolton.[5]
When mountain clansmen try to infiltrate Deepwood in advance of Stannis Baratheon's attack on the castle, Asha has Lorren Longaxe and Six-Toed Harl bring Lady Glover and the maester before her. Once Sybelle arrives from the godswood on the arm of her bedmaid, she tells Asha that she had previously warned that northmen would try to recover Deepwood. Lady Glover urges Asha to surrender to Stannis and be exchanged for Sybelle's children, but Asha decides instead to make for her longships on the Bay of Ice. Asha is subsequently captured in the fight by Deepwood Motte.[5]
King Stannis, courteous with Sybelle but uncomfortable in her presence,[6] restores Deepwood to the Glovers.[11] Sybelle sends men sworn to Deepwood with Stannis for his march on Winterfell, including guides, trackers, and hunters.[6]
Sybelle ransoms six ironborn prisoners to Tycho Nestoris, who has them escort him through the wolfswood to find Stannis.[12]

[edit]Sybelle's relation to Ondrew Locke, the old Lord of Oldcastle, is unknown.
