Septon without a sept
Wandering septon is a septon who travels from village to village without a specific sept at which he serves.
About
Villages that are too small to support a septon might be visited by a wandering septon. These septons perform holy services, marriages, and forgive sins. While the septon is visiting the village, the people must provide him with food and a place to sleep.[1][2]
Begging brothers also travel from place to place, but they are not to be confused with wandering septons, as the latter are one rank higher in the Faith's hierarchy.[2]

A Feast for Crows
For nearly forty years, Meribald has been walking the countryside of the Riverlands as a wandering septon in exchange for food and shelter. He can recite passages from The Seven-Pointed Star by memory, which makes him capable enough to minister the Faith to smallfolk.[2]
