Bay of Seals
The Bay of Seals is a bay in the north that extends from beyond the Wall to the shores that fall under the domain of House Umber.[1] The Night's Watch have a castle astride it, Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. Isles of the bay, which is named after the animal, include Skagos and Skane.[2][3]

Geography
The grey and green waters of the Bay of Seals are choppy.[4] The wooded coastline to its south has rocks and whirlpools.[4]
Free folk raiders sometime cross the Bay of Seals in small boats[1][5] and rafts.[6]
History
According to Jon Snow, free folk have crossed the Bay of Seals to raid the lands of House Umber since the Dawn of Days.[7]
In the Feast of Skane, stoneborn from Skagos raided Skane, allegedly rendering the isle uninhabited.[4][8] Brandon IX Stark, King in the North, stopped Skagosi from raiding the mainland by destroying their ships and denying them the sea.[8]
Galleys from Eastwatch-by-the-Sea caught Cobblecat in the Bay of Seals.[9]

A Clash of Kings
Free folk in little boats cross the Bay of Seals and wash up on Umber lands, causing Hother Umber to demand that a fleet be built to stop the wildlings.[1]

Stannis Baratheon sails from Dragonstone to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea.[10]
A Feast for Crows
Samwell Tarly, Gilly, and Maester Aemon sail on Blackbird from Eastwatch across the Bay of Seals to Braavos.[4]
A Dance with Dragons
When the fleet of Salladhor Saan sails south from Eastwatch, Oledo and Old Mother's Son are driven onto Skagos.[11]
