The Gods Eye village is located on the western shore of the great lake called the Gods Eye in the riverlands.[1] The fishing village's name has not been published.
Layout
The unnamed village is located along the Gods Eye and a small stream which empties into the lake. It has at least twenty-six buildings with thatched roofs. A wooden pier is located by a low long storehouse with a slate roof and heavy wooden doors.[1]
A dense thicket of brambles grows south of the small village. A small wooded island is found northeast of the fishing village in the Gods Eye.[1]
Recent Events
A Clash of Kings
Lord Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, and their band of outlaws visit the unnamed village during the War of the Five Kings. In return for supplies, Beric gives the villagers promises of future repayment written on paper.[2]
In service to House Lannister, Ser Gregor Clegane and the Mountain's men occupy the fishing village and hang the bodies of their male victims from a long gibbet set up by the Gods Eye for crows and wolves to eat.[1][2]
Arya Stark, Gendry, the wounded Lommy Greenhands, and Weasel travel north after the fight at the holdfast. When they come near the unnamed village, Arya climbs a tree and sees a wagon near a stable and smoke coming from some of the chimneys. Arya and Gendry scout the village to find food for the hungry children. Gendry is caught by spearmen, however, and taken into the storehouse. Arya later leads Hot Pie to the village in an attempt to rescue Gendry. The youths are detected by guards, however, and Needle is confiscated from Arya. Weasel runs away, but Lommy is killed by Rafford.[1]
Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie are kept captive alongside villagers in the storehouse. The Tickler, Gregor's torturer, interrogates the villagers for information about Beric and his outlaws. Information about Beric is contradictory, and the only valuables unearthed by the men-at-arms are a little gold and silver, a sack of copper pennies, and a dented goblet set with garnets. After eight days Gregor marches north with his surviving captives toward Harrenhal.[2]
A Storm of Swords
While traveling with Sandor Clegane, Gregor's brother, Arya explains that she knows the Mountain's men from their capture of her and her friends at the village.[3]
